(GSI) is pleased to present the results of our geotechnical investigation for
the site. The purpose of this report is to present the results of our investigation, as well
as to provide preliminary foundation recommendations for the currently planned
remodeling and related improvement(s).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Based on our review of data, field exploration, laboratory testing, and geologic and
engineering analyses, the site appears suitable for its intended use, from a geotechnical
viewpoint, provided the recommendations presented in the text of this report are
implemented.
Alluvium underlies the entire tract area. Groundwater was encountered on site at
depths of 17.5 to 21.5 feet during this study. These observations reflect site
conditions at the time of our site investigations. However, historical groundwater is
recorded to be at approximately 5 feet.
The site is designated by CGS (California Geological Survey) as a seismic hazard-
E-ne-having a potential for liquefactiof The site is underlain at depth by alluvial
deposits that are overlain by engineered fill materials. Based on GSI's evaluation
of the underlying fine sandy soils, the site has a potential for liquefaction.
