EXPEDITED PERMIT PROCESS FOR SIVTALL-SCALE PV SYSTEMS
MICRo_INVERTER
The information in rhis guideline is intended ro help local jurisdicrions and contractors identify when PV sysrem insrallarions
are simple, needing only a basic review and when an installation is more complex. It is likely that 50 % -75% of all residential
systems will comply wirh lhese simple criteria. For projects thar fail to meer the simple criteria. resolution steps have been
suggesred ro provide as a path ro permit approval.
Re quired lfllorrnation Jor Perrnit :
l Sire plan showing location of major componenrs on the property. This drawing need not be exacrly ro scale, bur ir
should represent relative Iocation of componenis ar site (see supplied example site plan). PV arrays on dwellings
with a 3'perimeter space ar ridge and sides may nor need separare fire service review.
2. The PV array is composed of 4 series srrings or less per inverrer.
J. The toul inverter capacity has a continuous ac power outpur 13,440 Watrs or less
4. One of the standard electrical diagrams (El.l, El.l a, El.lb, or El.lc) can be used to accurately represent rhe PV
system. Inleractive PDF diagrams are available at www.solarabcs.org/permitting.
Fill out the standatd electrical diagram completely. A guide to the electrical diagram is provided to help the applicant
understand each blank tofll in.
