After commissioning the inverter, change the operating <br />mode of the multifunction relay, if necessary. <br />User manual under <br />www.SMA-Solar.com <br />6.4.2 Operating Modes of the Multifunction Relay <br />Operating mode of multi- <br />function relay (Mlt.Op- <br />Mode) <br />Description <br />Fault indication (FltInd)The multifunction relay controls a display device (e.g. a warning <br />light) which, depending on the type of connection, signals either an <br />error or the undisturbed operation of the inverter. <br />Self-consumption (SelfC- <br />smp) <br />The multifunction relay switches loads on or off, depending on the <br />power production of the PV system. <br />Control via communica- <br />tion (ComCtl) <br />The multifunction relay switches loads on or off according to com- <br />mands transmitted by a communication product. <br />Battery bank (BatCha)The multifunction relay controls the charging of the batteries depend- <br />ing on the power production of the PV system. <br />Fan control (FanCtl)The multifunction relay controls an external fan, depending on the <br />temperature of the inverter. <br />Switching status grid re- <br />lay (GriSwCpy) <br />The local grid operator may require that a signal is transmitted as <br />soon as the inverter connects to the utility grid.
