TEST LAB. <br />EQUIPMENT INSTALLED SHALL BE PER ITS LISTING REQUIREMENTS <br />AND THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS. [NEC 110.2, 110.3, <br />690.4(B), 690.12(D)] <br />· ALL OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT SHALL BE NEMA 3R RATED, INCLUDING <br />ALL ROOF MOUNTED TRANSITION BOXES AND SWITCHES. <br />· ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROPERLY GROUNDED AND BONDED IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH NEC ARTICLE 250. <br />· ALL PV CIRCUITS CONNECTED AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE <br />PROTECTED AGAINST OVERCURRENT. OVERCURRENT DEVICES <br />SHALL BE LISTED FOR USE IN PV SYSTEMS. OVERCURRENT <br />PROTECTIVE DEVICES SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED FOR CIRCUITS <br />WITH SUFFICIENT AMPACITY FOR THE HIGHEST AVAILABLE <br />CURRENT. CIRCUITS CONNECTED TO CURRENT LIMITED SUPPLIES <br />AND ALSO CONNECTED TO SOURCES HAVING HIGHER CURRENT <br />AVAILABILITY SHALL BE PROTECTED AT THE HIGHER CURRENT <br />SOURCE CONNECTION. [NEC 690.9] <br />· DISCONNECTING MEANS OF THE PV SYSTEM (INCLUDING RAPID <br />SHUTDOWN INITIATION) SHALL BE LOCATED IN A READILY <br />ACCESSIBLE LOCATION NEAR THE EQUIPMENT. [NEC 690.13,690.15] <br />· RAPID SHUTDOWN EQUIPMENT TO COMPLY WITH NEC 690.12. <br />· ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM TERMINALS LOCATED MORE THAN 5 <br />FEET AWAY OR ON OPPOSITE SIDE OF WALL FROM CONNECTED <br />EQUIPMENT MUST HAVE DISCONNECTING MEANS IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH NEC 706.7(E) AND LABELED PER 706.7(D). A SECOND <br />DISCONNECTING MEANS LOCATED AT THE CONNECTED <br />EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED WHERE THE DISCONNECTING <br />MEANS AT THE ESS END OF THE CIRCUIT IS NOT WITHIN SIGHT. <br />· THE UTILITY-INTERACTIVE INVERTERS SHALL AUTOMATICALLY <br />DE-ENERGIZE ITS OUTPUT TO THE CONNECTED ELECTRICAL <br />PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION NETWORK VOLTAGE HAS BEEN <br />RESTORED. [NEC 705.40] <br />· ALL CONDUCTORS IN EXPOSED OUTDOOR LOCATIONS SHALL BE <br />LISTED AND IDENTIFIED FOR USE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND FOR <br />THE APPLICATION. [NEC 690.31(C) THROUGH (F), 310.10(D)] <br />· INSULATION OF EXPOSED CONDUCTORS UNDER THE MODULES <br />SHALL BE USE-2 OR PV-WIRE TYPE FOR PV SYSTEMS (UL 4703 & <br />854 LISTED) [NEC 690.31(C)] <br />· FINE-STRANDED CABLE CONNECTIONS MUST BE MADE IN LUGS <br />AND TERMINALS TO ENSURE A THOROUGHLY GOOD CONNECTION <br />WITHOUT DAMAGING THE CONDUCTORS. [NEC 110.14(A)] <br />· FLEXIBLE, FINE-STRANDED CABLES SHALL BE TERMINATED ONLY <br />WITH TERMINALS, LUGS, DEVICES, OR CONNECTORS THAT ARE <br />IDENTIFIED AND LISTED FOR SUCH USE. [NEC 690.31(H), 110.14] <br />· ALL PV CIRCUIT CONDUCTORS SHALL BE MARKED ON EACH END <br />AND GROUPED FOR UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION. [NEC 690.31(B)] <br />· ALL EXTERIOR CONDUIT, FITTINGS, AND BOXES SHALL BE RAIN <br />TIGHT AND APPROVED FOR USE IN WET LOCATIONS. [NEC 314.15] <br />· ALL GROUNDED, (NEUTRAL), CONDUCTORS' INSULATION SHALL BE SOLID WHITE, GRAY, <br />OR WITH 3-WHITE STRIPES. [NEC 200.6, 200.7, 400.22]; ALL GROUNDING CONDUCTORS <br />SHALL BE OF BARE WIRE WITHOUT COVERING, OR WITH INSULATION OF GREEN OR <br />GREEN WITH YELLOW STRIPES, NEC 250.119 & 400.23. THE COLOR OF UNGROUNDED <br />CONDUCTORS SHALL BE OTHER THAN FOR GROUNDED, (NEUTRAL), AND GROUNDING <br />CONDUCTORS. [NEC 310.110(C)] <br />· MAXIMUM CONDUCTOR LENGTH BETWEEN SUPPLY SIDE CONNECTION AND <br />OVERCURRENT PROTECTION IS 10FT. [NEC 705.31] <br />· CONNECTIONS ON THE LOAD SIDE OF THE SERVICE DISCONNECTING MEANS OF THE <br />OTHER SOURCE(S) AT ANY DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT ON THE PREMISES SHALL BE IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH NEC 705.12(B). <br />· DC WIRING INSIDE A BUILDING MUST BE IN METALLIC TYPE RACEWAYS, CONDUITS, <br />ENCLOSURES, OR CABLE SHEATHINGS. [NEC <br />690.46, 250.120(C)] <br />· THE INTERCONNECTION POINT SHALL BE ON THE SUPPLY SIDE OF ALL GROUND-FAULT <br />PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. [NEC 705.32] <br />· CABLES/WIRES THAT ARE SUBJECT TO PHYSICAL DAMAGE, SUCH AS THOSE NOT <br />LOCATED UNDER THE MODULES, MUST BE PROTECTED. [NEC 300.4] <br />· FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE REPLACEMENTS, BONDING TO THE METAL PIPES OF <br />NATURAL GAS, HOT WATER, AND COLD WATER MUST BE PROVIDED. [NEC 250.104] <br />· GROUNDING ROD ELECTRODES SHALL BE INSTALLED 8-FT MINIMUM IN CONTACT WITH <br />SOIL AND MINIMUM 5/8-INCH DIAMETER. [NEC 250.52(A)(5), 250.53(G)] <br />· THE MARKINGS, "WARNING: PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER SOURCE", FOR DC RACEWAYS AND <br />CABLE ASSEMBLIES MUST BE NO MORE THAN 10-FT O.C.; AND IS SEPARATED BY <br />ENCLOSURES, WALLS, PARTITIONS, CEILINGS, FLOORS, OR BENDS ABOVE OR BELOW <br />PENETRATIONS. [NEC 690.31(G)(3)&(4)] <br />· WORKING CLEARANCES TO BE PROVIDED AT NEW AND EXISTING ELECTRICAL <br />EQUIPMENT. [NEC 110.26] <br />· POWER PRODUCTION SYSTEMS, AND ALL ASSOCIATED WIRING AND <br />INTERCONNECTIONS OPERATING IN PARALLEL WITH A PRIMARY POWER SOURCE SHALL <br />BE PERFORMED ONLY BY QUALIFIED PERSONS. [NEC 690.4(C), 705.8] <br />· LABELS SHALL BE REFLECTIVE, AND ALL LETTERS SHALL BE CAPITALIZED AND SHALL BE <br />A MINIMUM HEIGHT OF 3/8" IN WHITE ON A RED BACKGROUND. THESE SMOKE ALARMS ARE <br />REQUIRED TO BE IN ALL BEDROOMS, OUTSIDE EACH BEDROOM, AND AT LEAST ONE ON <br />EACH FLOOR OF THE HOUSE. CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS ARE REQUIRED TO BE <br />RETROFITTED OUTSIDE EACH BEDROOM AND AT LEAST ONE ON EACH FLOOR OF THE <br />HOUSE.
