Project No. D-3885-06
Christ Our Savior Catholic Parish
Statement
It is our professional opinion that the proposed construction will not be subject to
geologic hazard from settlement, slippage, or landslide, provided the recommendations of
this report are incorporated into the proposed construction. It is also our opinion that the
proposed construction will not adversely affect the geologic stability of the site or
adjacent properties provided the recommendations contained in this report are
incorporated into the proposed construction.
Foundation Design Recommendations
General
The site is subject to ground shaking typical of the Southem California area, any
construction should conform to the current seismic design provision of the Califomia
Building Code 2016 and/or other regulatory codes.
Based upon findings of this investigation, it is concluded that the site is susceptible to
liquefaction at various depths below existing ground, in the event of a major earthquake.
Also, the project site consists of medium expansive clayey layers including very low
density peat layers at various depths, specially between l0- to 2O-feet depth; as a result,
the proposed structures, specially Sanctuary Building with heary loads will likely to
undergo excessive static and seismic settlements.
Peat soil is classified as highly organic with organic content more than 75%o and
represents the extreme form of soft soil. Peat soil originates from the disintegration of
plant and organic matters. It has typical characteristics which include: high natural
20
considering the relatively flat topography in the area, and scattered non-continuous
liquefaction zones, the site does not appear to be susceptible to seismically induced lateral
spreading.
E
u
I
I
I
n
E
I
I
T
I
E
I
t
I
T
I
E
t
