Project No. D-3885-06 <br />Christ Our Savior Catholic Parish <br />RECOMMENDED EARTHWORK SPECIFICATIONS <br />1.0 General <br />L I Description <br />l.l.l These specifications cover preparation of the subject site to receive fills, the type <br />of soils suilable for use in fills, the compaction standards, and the methods of testing <br />compacted fills. <br />1.1 .2 The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, operations, and <br />materials to excavate to the required grade, support existing underground facilities, <br />stockpile material, compact fill and backfill, and frne grade. The work of the Contractor <br />shall include all clearing and grubbing, removing existing unsatisfactory material, <br />preparing areas to be filled, spreading and compacting of fill in the areas to be filled and <br />all other work necessary to complete the grading of the filled areas. It shall be the <br />Contractor's responsibiliry to place, spread, moisten or dry, and compact the fill in strict <br />accordance with these specifications to the lines and grades indicated on proj ect plans or <br />as directed in writing by the Civil Engineer. <br />L I .3 Deviations from these specifications will be permitted only upon written <br />authorization from the Owner or his representative. <br />I .2 Role of the Geotechnical Engineer <br />1.2.1 Construction - The Owner will employ a Ceotechnical Consultant to observe and <br />test this work as it is being performed.
