Project No. D-3885-06
Christ Our Savior Catholic Parish
Introduction
The primary objectives of this study were to explore subsurface conditions beneath the
project site and to evaluate the existing subsurface conditions relative to foundation
support, lateral earth pressure design parameters, seismic design parameters, earthwork
and earthquake-induced liquefaction potential study.
In general, the study objectives were met by a site reconnaissance, exploratory drilling
sampling of earth materials, laboratory testing, seismic study and engineering analysis.
The general scope and objectives of the study were established in collaboration with the
project architect.
Site Description
The project site is essentially a level ground area located just southeast ofthe Intersection
of West Alton Avenue and South Raitt Street, east of Jaguar Way. More specifically, it is
located at 2000 West Alton Avenue in the City of Santa Ana, Califomia as shown on
Vicinity Map (Plate A) and Google Map (Plate D) in Appendix A. Local relief is very low
(nearly flat). Site elevation is about 40 feet above sea level.
Proposed Development
Proposed development consists of a new single-story Sanctuary Building, approximately
18,785 square foot (sft), a new single-story Parish Center including office building,
approximately 5,938 sft, a new single-story meeting room building, approximately 4,796
sft in areas and site improvement for this new campus as shown on the Plot Plan and
Boring/CPT Location Map (Plate B-2) in Appendix A.
t
I
T
I
I
I
I
T
I
I
T
I
I
ll
At this time, structural plans or foundations plans are not available however according to
project structural engineer, the magnitude ofdesign loads for Sanctuary building is heary
about 150 kips and other building structures will have relatively moderate loads.
