Mater Dei High School October 20, 2023 <br />Proposed Dance Studio, Santa Ana, California Project No. 3204.I <br /> <br />3204-I-01R (10/23) 2 <br /> <br />2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />Our scope of work included review of existing information, field investigation, laboratory <br />testing, engineering analyses, and preparation of this report. <br /> <br />Our field exploration consisted of two exploratory borings. The borings were advanced <br />to depths ranging from 20 to 50½ feet below existing site grades. Detailed logs of the <br />borings and a summary of the equipment used are presented in Appendix A. The <br />locations of the subsurface explorations are shown on the Site Plan, Figure 3. <br /> <br />Laboratory soil tests were performed on selected representative samples as an aid in soil <br />classification and to evaluate the engineering properties of the soils. The geotechnical <br />laboratory testing program used for this investigation included evaluations of in-place <br />moisture content and dry density, Atterberg Limits, direct shear, consolidation, maximum <br />density, expansion potential, and corrosivity. Laboratory testing procedures and results <br />are summarized in Appendix B. <br /> <br />Soil corrosivity testing was performed by Project X Corrosion under subcontract to GPI. <br />Their test results are presented in Appendix B. <br /> <br />Engineering evaluations were performed to provide earthwork criteria, foundation and <br />slab design parameters and assessments of seismic hazards.
