• RPO switch <br />• Individual ACPV circuit breakers <br />• Installed knife blade handle disconnect switch located in series with all backup side <br />solar sources <br />The RSD initiation devices for the non-backup side circuits can be one of the following: <br />• Manufacturer-specific RSD initiation device <br />• Main service breaker (if PV inverter(s) are located within the array boundary <br />(i.e., microinverters, etc.)) <br />• Individual solar circuit breakers <br />• Installed knife blade handle disconnect switch located in series with all non-backup <br />solar sources <br />The rapid shutdown switch must have a label that includes the following wording located <br />on or no more than three feet from the switch [690.12(D)(2)]: <br />RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH FOR SOLAR PV SYSTEM <br />2023 NEC Article 706.15 Disconnecting Means <br />Means shall be provided to disconnect the SunVault systems power output circuit(s) from <br />all premises wiring. The disconnecting means must be readily accessible and must <br />comply with at least one of the following: <br />1. Located within the SunVault enclosure. <br />2. Located within sight AND within 10 feet of the SunVault enclosure. <br />3. Where the disconnecting means is not located within sight AND within 10’ of the <br />SunVault enclosure, the disconnecting means must be capable of being locked in the <br />open position. <br />Note: The ESS disconnect is the 40 A ESS breaker located in the Hub+ <br />backup pan, and can be locked open with the Eaton BRLW handle lockoff <br />installation accessory part.
