524 S Shawnee Dr. <br />Santa Ana CA 92704 <br />LABORATORY TESTING PROGRAMS <br />Samples of the in-situ soils recovered from the borings were used for our visual classification of the <br />material and further laboratory testing to obtain data for foundation design and site preparation <br />recommendations. <br />The laboratory testing consisted of performing classification, strength (shear), determining in-situ dry <br />density and moisture content; and determining the moisture-density relationship of major soils. <br />Descriptions of test procedures are included in the Appendix of this report. <br />The results of the testing are the basis for the conclusions and recommendations in the report. <br />SUMMARY OF SOIL AND DESIGN PROPERTIES <br />The following subsections and sections will present our detailed conclusions and recommendations for <br />the development of the site. <br />Basic Soil Properties <br />Maximum Density <br />The Maximum Density for the brown sandy silt per (ASTM D1557) <br />Boring #1 <br />Boring #2 <br />117.8 pcf @ 13.2% MC <br />112.8 pcf @ 14.8% MC <br />For compaction control during excavation and recompaction of the on-site soils use: <br />Boring #1 <br />Boring #2 <br />Direct Shear <br />106.02 pcf @ Optimum moisture <br />101.52 pcf @ Optimum moisture <br />The Shear values for the brown sandy silt per (ASTM D3080) <br />Peak Ultimate Angle <br />Boring #1 70 80 26° <br />Boring #2 80 100 27° <br />Bearing Value <br />1600 psf For design purposes <br />2 <br />524 S Shawnee Dr & <br />Unit# 22/7/2025
