<br />THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING THE FOLLOWING DEFERRED
<br />SUBMITTALS TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL:
<br />1. SIGNAGE
<br />2. SECURITY SYSTEM
<br />3. DEMOLITION
<br />4. ENCROACHMENT PERMIT (PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PLANS)
<br />DESIGN/BUILD COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS:
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DESIGN/BUILD COMPONENTS AND
<br />SYSTEMS UNLESS OTHERWISE ARRANGED BETWEEN THE OWNER AND CONTRACTOR.
<br />DESIGN/BUILD COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS MUST BE FULLY COORDINATED WITH THE
<br />PROJECT DESIGN WORK THAT HAS PRECEDED IT. IT IS INTENDED THAT DESIGN/BUILD
<br />DESIGN WORK SHALL BE COMMENCED PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION AND
<br />EARLY ENOUGH IN THE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE SO THAT IT CAN BE FULLY
<br />COORDINATED WITH WORK ALREADY DESIGNED OR PUT IN PLACE. ANY WORK RELATED
<br />TO A GIVEN DESIGN/BUILD COMPONENT OR SYSTEM THAT INTERFERES WITH THE
<br />INTENDED FUNCTION OF THE PROJECT, OR ITS PARTS, OR THE WORK OF OTHERS,
<br />MUST BE REMEDIED AT CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. DESIGN/BUILD COMPONENTS AND
<br />SYSTEMS MAY REQUIRE SEPARATE APPROVALS, PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS FROM
<br />AND BY THE AUTHORITY(S) HAVING JURISDICTION (AHJ) OVER THE WORK. CONTRACTOR
<br />IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ANY SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS AND OBTAINING EACH
<br />RESPECTIVE APPROVAL, PERMIT AND INSPECTION FROM AND BY THE AHJ, INCLUDING
<br />PUBLIC UTILITY COMPANIES.
<br />DEFERRED SUBMITTALS:
<br />VARIOUS DESIGN/BUILD COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS (INCLUDING FINAL COORDINATION
<br />AND IMPLEMENTATION OF PUBLIC UTILITIES CONNECTIONS AND HOOKUPS) ARE
<br />REQUIRED TO HAVE SEPARATE DEFERRED SUBMITTALS MADE TO THE AHJ. DESIGN AND
<br />CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR EACH DEFERRED SUBMITTAL SHALL BE STAMPED
<br />AND SIGNED BY THE APPROPRIATELY LICENSED INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE
<br />DESIGN AND WORK INVOLVED. THE DOCUMENTS SHALL FIRST BE REVIEWED BY THE
<br />CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE APPROVED WITH A NOTATION INDICATING THAT THE
<br />CONTRACTOR HAS FOUND THE DESIGN AND DOCUMENTS TO BE IN CONFORMANCE
<br />WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, AND THE SUBJECT DESIGN/BUILD WORK HAS BEEN
<br />COMPLETELY COORDINATED WITH AS-BUILT CONSTRUCTION AND ALL WORK TO
<br />FOLLOW. THE DOCUMENTS SHALL THEN BE SUBMITTED TO THE ARCHITECT AND
<br />ENGINEER OF RECORD, WHO SHALL REVIEW THEM. UPON SATISFACTORY REVIEW, THE
<br />ARCHITECT SHALL FORWARD THE DOCUMENTS TO THE BUILDING OFFICIAL VIA THE
<br />CONTRACTOR WITH A NOTATION INDICATING THAT THE DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN
<br />REVIEWED AND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE IN GENERAL CONFORMANCE WITH
<br />THE DESIGN CONCEPT OF THE BUILDING. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
<br />SUBMITTING TO, AND OBTAINING APPROVAL OF, THE AHJ OVER THE WORK FOR EACH
<br />RESPECTIVE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL. THE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL ITEMS SHALL NOT BE
<br />INSTALLED UNTIL THEIR DESIGN AND SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED
<br />BY THE AHJ.
