Project No.: 219.007-24 DATE : 02/05/24 <br />PROJECT: Vietnamese Alliance Church PV BY : ESY <br />2022 CBC Rooftop Photovoltaic Panel Systems <br />CBC Section 1607.14.4.1 for Photovoltaic Panel Systems states that roof areas where solar systems are <br />installed can be considered as areas without roof live load due to the space being inaccessible. This means <br />that roof live load does not need to be included in the analysis of structural elements where solar panels are <br />installed, given that the space between the roof surface and module does not exceed 24 inches. <br />Despite this code allowance, our team includes roof live load in the structural analysis where the solar system <br />is installed in an effort to be conservative. Instead of disregarding roof live load completely, the analysis <br />includes as much roof live load as possible and is reduced if necessary.
