Based on Table 19 .3 .1.1 of ACI 318-14, the Exposure
Class Sl is appropriate for onsite soils. Water cement ratio (0.50) shall be adjusted to produce a low
slump ( <3inches>) mix. Concrete specifications may be changed by the Structural Engineer.
Type V cement is not required but is recommended for use. Strength should be 4000 psi.
Expansive Soil
The soil found on this site consists of silty sand. The soil found on the site is expansive. A modified
test in the laboratory and the condition of the concrete paving and foundations on site show very low
signs of expansive reaction in the soil. Expansion Index: Very low 22
3
Fa
PGA:0.553
PGAM:0.663
FPGA:1.2
Ie 1
1834 W Third St &
#2,33/21/2025
