<br />1. These plans and specifications are the property of KN DEIGN and shall not
<br />be used for any work other than the project shown herein.
<br />2. Temporary barriers and/or a protective construction fence shall be provided where required
<br />by the Building Department and shall be constructed in accordance with the rules,
<br />regulations, and ordinances governing the place of the Building.
<br />3. Sanitary facilities shall be provided and maintained by Contractor during construction per
<br />applicable regulations.
<br />4. Contractor shall arrange and pay for all temporary utility services and connections during
<br />construction.
<br />5. General Notes, notes, and typical details apply to all drawings unless noted otherwise.
<br />6. All A.S.T.M. designations shall be amended to date unless otherwise noted.
<br />7. Framing conditions not specifically shown shall be framed similar to the details shown for the
<br />respective materials.
<br />8. Provide openings and supports for mechanical equipment, ducts, piping, vents, etc. as
<br />required. Refer to Architectural, and Mechanical Drawings for additional openings and
<br />equipment not shown on Structural Drawings. All suspended equipment to be provided with
<br />approved lateral bracing.
<br />9. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS.
<br />10. All dimensions are to face of studs, concrete or masonry unless noted otherwise.
<br />11. Provide 6" or 8" studs, or furring full length of room wall where required to accommodate
<br />plumbing and electrical installations.
<br />12. If existing facilities are related to the Work, the Contractor shall not disrupt the existing
<br />services or utilities without obtaining the Owner's prior approval and instructions in each case.
<br />13. Verify sizes and locations of all mechanical equipment before construction of any bases or
<br />pads to support such equipment.
<br />14. Verify all plumbing and equipment sizes before beginning construction of cabinets.
<br />15. Contractor is responsible for total coordination between all subcontractors and trades.
<br />16. Unless noted otherwise, all vestibules, closets, columns, projections, recesses or other
<br />adjacent areas within scheduled areas shall have finishes as scheduled for the respective
<br />spaces in which they occur.
<br />17. Anyone supplying labor and/or materials to the Project shall carefully examine all subsurfaces
<br />to receive work. Any conditions detrimental to work shall be reported in writing to Contractor
<br />prior to beginning. Commencement of work shall imply acceptance of all subsurfaces.
<br />18. Temporary bracing shall not be removed from any element until the element is capable of
<br />supporting its design load.
<br />19. Any material stored at the Site shall be completely supported free from the ground, covered
<br />and otherwise protected to avoid damage from the elements.
<br />20. All weather-exposed surfaces shall have a weather-resistive barrier to protect the interior wall
<br />covering and that exterior openings shall be flashed in such a manner as to make them
<br />weatherproof.
<br />21. All new conditions similar to existing conditions shall match existing construction, unless
<br />noted otherwise.
<br />22. All exposed ends of steel tubes, pipes, and other similar members shall receive steel
<br />closures/caps to be welded, ground smooth, and painted to match.
<br />23. Provide fire blocking per CBC Sections 717.2.2 through 717.2.7. Fire blocking shall be
<br />provided in concealed spaces of stud walls and partitions, including furred spaces at the
<br />ceiling and floor level and at 10 ft. intervals both vertical and horizontal. In combustible
<br />construction, fire blocking shall be installed to cut off concealed draft openings (both vertical
<br />and horizontal) and shall form an effective barrier between floors, and between a top story
<br />and a roof or attic space.
<br />24. Contractor to provide pedestrian protection in accordance with CBC Section 3306. If a
<br />separate building permit is required, the Contractor shall be responsible for submitting and
<br />acquiring approval from the governing agency.
<br />GENERAL NOTES
<br />A. BEFORE MAKING A REQUEST FOR FINAL FIRE INSPECTION, PLEASE READ AND COMPLY WITH THE
<br />APPLICABLE RCFPD NOTES: ADDITIONALLY, THE PERSON REQUESTING THE INSPECTION IS
<br />RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING THE INSPECTOR ON TIME, PROVIDING ACCESS TO THE AREA
<br />REQUIRING INSPECTION AND HAVING AN APPROVED SET OF PLANS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
<br />AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION.
<br />B. B. A FIRE INSPECTION AND FINAL APPROVAL IS REQUIRED BEFORE THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT WILL
<br />ACCEPT A BUILDING FINAL INSPECTION REQUEST. PLEASE CALL FIRE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
<br />(FCS) TO REQUEST ALL FIRE INSPECTIONS.
<br />C. C. THE KEY TO THE BUILDING OR SUITE MUST BE GIVEN TO THE FIRE INSPECTOR AT THE TIME OF
<br />FINAL INSPECTION. THE KEY WILL BE LOCKED IN THE KNOX BOX FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
<br />EMERGENCY ACCESS.
<br />D. D. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS MUST BE INSTALLED PER RCFDP FIRE EXTINGUISHER POLICY. START THE
<br />PLACEMENT OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS MUST BE NEAR EXTERIOR EXIT DOORS. MOUNT THE FIRE
<br />EXTINGUISHER IN A VISIBLE AND ACCESSIBLE LOCATION 3 1/2' TO 5' ABOVE THE FINISH FLOOR TO
<br />HANDLE. BUILDINGS WITH MULTIPLE FLOORS MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE FIRE EXTINGUISHER PER.
<br />FLOOR LIGHT HAZARD ( OFFICE, CLASSROOMS, CHURCHES, ASSEMBLY ROOMS, RESIDENTIAL)
<br />OCCUPANCIES REQUIRE "2A1OBC" FIRE EXTINGUISHERS. THE MAXIMUM COVERAGE AREA IS 5,000
