Executive Summary
• Existing building is feasible for PV solar system.
• Reserved capacity and maximum allowable deck loads for the existing roof:
Reserved Capacity =
Maximum system weight =
Deck Downward = (controlled by 2x4 purlin for point load spaced at 4.0 ft o.c.)
Assuming using U-Anchor 2400/2600 with 8-#14 fasteners and w/ PanelClaw racking system with U-bracket
Uplift =
Shear =
0 (in a 2.0' wide strip X 6.5' long spans, point loads spaced at 3.0' and 3.7' o.c.)
Assuming using OMG PowerGrip Plus with 8-#14 fasteners and w/ PanelClaw racking system with U-bracket
Uplift =
Shear =
0
Assuming using Facet with 8-#14 fasteners and w/ PanelClaw racking system with U-bracket
Uplift =
Shear =
Notes:
Existing Structure
Target T0286 - Santa Ana - Final Report
The original structure is Target T0286 - Santa Ana building located at N Grand Ave & 17th St, Santa Ana, CA
92705. The referenced building is a one story wood frame structure, which was built circa 1966. The
approximate total area is 107370 square feet. Typical roof construction consists of 1/2 Plywood Deck (assumed)
supported by wood joists spaced at 1'-4" o.c., supported by wood purlins spaced at 8'-0" o.c. Purlins are
supported by girders spaced at 30' o.c.
350.0 lb
335 lb
200 lb
PPE-05184.03
7/19/2024
A (PV) Solar Array is proposed to be installed with modules mounted to a ballasted (and/or mechanically attached)
racking system and supported on the rooftop of the subject building. Pure Power has performed a structural analysis
and determined the following:
320.0 lb
Sheet 1.1
Prepared by PB
315 lb
224,084 lb
Checked by AY
6.0 psf
• The allowable deck loads will be dependent on the racking system used. At the time of the writing of this
report, this information was not available. The allowable deck loads are subject to change upon receiving this
information.
•PPE has reviewed the racking package produced by PanelClaw dated 07/06/2024 and verified conformance to
the structural loading limitations presented in this report. All allowable capacities listed above are based on
min. 0.5" penertration in existing plywood sheathing.
450 lb
200 lb
333 lb
1330 E Seventeenth
St4/10/2025
