LOAD INFORMATION

The specific project load requirements including the applicable building code, occupancy,
environmental, and seismic design criteria are supplied to the metal building manufacturer
through a contracted builder and shall be confirmed by the Engineer of Record. The load
information contained in this section represents all applicable environmental and seismic
loading being applied to the Metal Building System.
The wind load report includes component & cladding loading as well as main wind force
resisting system loading with edge zones displayed. For component & cladding wind force the
coefficients of loading are based on individual component tributary areas. For main wind force
resisting system loading a total of eight different wind cases are considered. This includes
external wind force applied parallel or perpendicular to the building and windward or leeward
wind directions combined with internal suction or pressure.
The seismic load report includes a summary of contributing dead loads, the individual seismic
force resisting systems utilized, and the determination of base shear for each resisting system.
General loading nomenclature:
RDL – Roof dead load
COL – Collateral dead load
FDL – Floor dead load
FLL – Floor live load
SL – Snow on left roof surface
SR – Snow on right roof surface
LRD – Windward over the ridge snow drift
RRD – Leeward over the ridge snow drift
UOS – User override minimum snow (Pmin)
RLL – Roof live load on left roof surface
RLR – Roof live load on right roof surface
W1R – Windward wind force applied perpendicular to the building length with internal suction
W1L – Leeward wind force applied perpendicular to the building length with internal suction
W2R – Windward wind force applied perpendicular to the building length with internal pressure
W2L – Leeward wind force applied perpendicular to the building length with internal pressure
W5B – Windward wind force applied parallel to the building length with internal suction
W5F – Leeward wind force applied parallel to the building length with internal suction
W6B – Windward wind force applied parallel to the building length with internal pressure
W6F – Leeward wind force applied parallel to the building length with internal pressure
BWF – Longitudinal bracing wind force applied parallel to the building length to the left
7 1901 N Fairview St & Bldg A, B,
C, F & 1919 N Fairview St Bldg E
4/11/2024
