CHANNEL LETTER I l 13 (/1 f 1.4 flf.) M (Hj i i }*.
1..,f l) !.lut']1jjl1(,
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (cont)
5. The 36" Quick Connect jumper wires with class. 2 wire should be used to connect modules from letter to letter,
'while: the 5-Foot Whip is to be used to connect a run of modules to a power supply (See Wiring Diagram on
Page 5). Although jumps can b.e made from letter Lo letter and then h·om the final letter to the: fewer supply. the
preferred method is to run each letter to the power supply. The secondary wires on the power supplies are color
coordinated to match (Blue for negative atnd Red for positive or Black for negative and Yellow for positive on
older products). All runs through a wall must either be in a conduit or "pass-thru" or be made with class,2 wire·.
See Figure 5 for an example installation.
Figure,5: Example layout,
SECONDAR'i WIRING Wl FLE,<lai.
OR CLASS LWIPE MCUT CONDI:11
CONDUIT
7 1 PRIMAR·f WIRING
1--•- 1 4,·.NSFCHMER ····iN
CHA /1/¢t Ll'R CHANNEL CrR CHANNEL UR
rOP VIEW OF 901RING EXAMPLE FOR 8EHIND WALLOR AN RACEWAY
.040 ALUM. This will increase your load: bal-
ance and light uniformity. FOr example: using the Quasar (QZR-6-12-W) on a 60W power supply, you would limit
the total number of modules on each run to 26 (or 13: feet) and connect at the midpoint.
6. Repair and seal any unused openings in the rain enclosure. Openings greater than 1/2i inch diameter require
a metal patch secured by screws er rivets and caulked with hon-hardening caulk. Smaller openings may be
sealed with non-hardening caulk.
7. Attach channel letter face(s).
8. Energize sign.
ULED Page 3
Uadaria 0519.1 1
US LED 1 6007 PORTWEST DR I HOUSTON, rx 77024 I r 886 972 gigi i F 713 972 9393 1 Info@usled com www.usled.cornAlwavs the Riaht Chnice!1 .b:An' 12.,0-
.My
