Job No. 74-lZ2-2 Page 1 <br />I \TRODUCTI O\ <br />This report presents the results of the density tests <br />perforned on the property located at 1603 Alton Avenue in <br />the City of Santa Ana, California. <br />Planned for construction is a Iight industrial tilt-up <br />building. The structures are to be supported on conventional <br />continuous and pad footings with slab-on-grade concrete floors. <br />){o Foundation Soils Investigation was prepared by this <br />firn. PIease refer to the letter of responsibility dated <br />August 20. 1974. <br />FIELD TESTING AND OBSERVATIONS <br />As part of the clearing operation' all vegetation and <br />debris l{ere renoved from the site. Tree roots rere renoved <br />by hand to a depth of 6 feet. <br />As preparation for receiving fi11r the natural ground <br />was undercut to a depth of 5-l/2 to 7 feet to remove a black <br />corupressible peat, uhich rias removed fron the site, The <br />botton was then scarified to a depth of 6 inches, compacted <br />and tested. The soil was then considered suitable to suP- <br />port the fill and the proposeC structures. <br />The fill was placed in lifts of 6 inch thickness and <br />compacted by neans of a 6 x 6 sheepsfoot roller and by means <br />of wheelrolling with loaded scrapers.
