Deterioration of metals, metal finishes, and other materials beyond normal wear. <br />2. Warranty Period, Panels: Five years from date of Substantial Completion. <br />3. Warranty Period, Fixed Top Seals, Track, Carriers, and its Component Parts: Ten <br />years from date of Substantial Completion. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Seismic Performance: Operable panel partitions shall withstand the effects of earthquake <br />motions determined according to SEI/ASCE 7. <br />1. The term "withstand" means "the panels will remain in place without separation of any <br />parts from the system when subjected to the seismic forces specified." <br />B. Acoustical Performance: Provide operable panel partitions tested by a qualified testing <br />agency for the following acoustical properties according to test methods indicated: <br />1. Sound-Transmission Requirements: Operable panel partition assembly tested for <br />laboratory sound-transmission loss performance according to ASTM E90, determined <br />by ASTM E413, and rated for not less than the STC indicated. <br />2. Noise-Reduction Requirements: Operable panel partition assembly, identical to <br />partition tested for STC, tested for sound-absorption performance according to <br />ASTM C423, and rated for not less than the NRC indicated. <br />3. STC: 52. <br />2.2 MANUFACTURERS <br />A. Basis-of-Design Product: The design for the operable partition is based on the manufacturer <br />identified below. Subject to compliance with requirements, provide the named product or a <br />comparable product by one of the following: <br />1. Basis-of-Design: KWIK-WALL 3000 Series. <br />2. Advanced Equipment Corporation. <br />3. Modernfold, Inc. <br />4. Or approved equal. <br />2.3 PANELS <br />A. Product: Manually operated, top-supported, flat panels hinged in pairs of two. <br />1. Panels shall be nominally 4” thick, of equal width, and continuously hinged. <br />2. Height: 9’-0”. <br />3. Panel faces shall be laminated to appropriate substrate to meet the STC requirement <br />specified in Acoustical Performance Article herein. <br />a. Face Material: Fabric Finish, gray. <br />b. Horizontal Splice: None. <br />4. Frames shall be of 16 gauge painted galvannealed steel with integral factory applied <br />aluminum vertical edge and face protection. Face finish shall wrap around the vertical <br />panel edges and provide no protective vertical face trim. <br />5. Vertical sound seals shall be of tongue and groove configuration, ensure panel-to- <br />panel alignment and prevent sound leaks between panels. <br />6. Horizontal top seals shall be fixed continuous contact dual 4-finger vinyl. <br />7. All standard panels shall have bottom retractable seals which provide a minimum of 2” <br />floor clearance during movement of the partition, including all panels adjacent to pass <br />door(s).
