Reference Sections 01 2500 “Substitution Procedures” and 01 2500.10 <br />“Substitution Request Form”. <br />1.9 ARCHITECT'S REVIEW <br />A.Action Submittals: Architect will review each submittal, indicate corrections or revisions <br />required, and return. <br />1.PDF Submittals: Architect will indicate, via markup on each submittal, the appropriate action. <br />2.Submittals by Web-Based Project Management Software: Architect will indicate, on Project <br />management software website, the appropriate action. <br />B.Informational Submittals: Architect will review each submittal and will not return it, or will return it if <br />it does not comply with requirements. Architect will forward each submittal to appropriate party. <br />C.Partial submittals prepared for a portion of the Work will be reviewed when use of partial submittals <br />has received prior approval from Architect. <br />D.Incomplete submittals are unacceptable, will be considered nonresponsive, and will be returned for <br />resubmittal without review. <br />E.Architect will return without review submittals received from sources other than Contractor. <br />F.Submittals not required by the Contract Documents will be returned by Architect without action. <br />G.The Architect’s reviews shall not relieve the Contractor of the obligations in Document AIA A201 <br />“General Conditions of the Contract for Construction”, Sections 3.3, 3.5, and 3.12. <br />H.Shop drawings, product data, samples and similar submittals are not considered part of the Contract <br />Documents. <br />I.Submittals reviewed by the Architect or its consultants are for general review of conformance with <br />information given and the design concept expressed in the contract documents. This review is not for <br />the purpose of determining the accuracy and completeness of other information such as dimensions, <br />quantities and installation or performance of equipment or systems, all of which remain the <br />responsibility of the Contractor. <br />J.The Architect’s review shall not constitute approval of safety precautions or, unless otherwise <br />specifically stated by the Architect, of any construction means, methods, techniques, sequences or <br />procedures. The Architect’s review of a specific item shall not indicate approval of an assembly of <br />which the item is a component.
