Provide door hardware manufactured to comply with published templates generally <br />prepared for machine, wood, and sheet metal screws. provide screws according to <br />manufacturer’s recognized installation standards for application intended. <br />2. Finish exposed screws to match hardware finish, or, if exposed in surfaces of other work, <br />to match finish of this other work including prepared for paint surfaces to receive painted <br />finish. <br />3. Provide concealed fasteners wherever possible for hardware units exposed when door is <br />closed. Coordinate with “Metal Doors and Frames”, “Flush Wood Doors”, “Stile and Rail <br />Wood Doors” to ensure proper reinforcements. Advise the Architect where visible <br />fasteners, such as thru bolts, are required. <br />B. Provide screws, bolts, expansion shields, drop plates and other devices necessary for <br />hardware installation. <br />1. Interior: Standard weight, steel, 4-1/2 inches (114 mm) high <br />4. 1-3/4 inch (44 mm) thick doors over 36 inches (914 mm) wide: <br />a. Exterior: Heavy weight, bronze/stainless steel, 5 inches (127 mm) high <br />b. Interior: Heavy weight, steel, 5 inches (127 mm) high <br />5. 2 inches or thicker doors: <br />a. Exterior: Heavy weight, bronze or stainless steel, 5 inches (127 mm) high <br />b. Interior: Heavy weight, steel, 5 inches (127 mm) high <br />6. Adjust hinge width for door, frame, and wall conditions to allow proper degree of <br />opening.
