Round 1 Bowling and Amusement 12/09/2024 Paradigm Design <br />Main Place Mall Expansion Grand Rapids, MI <br />Santa Ana, California <br />Project #2309147GR <br />MECHANICAL DEMOLITION FOR REMODELING 23 0501 - 1 <br />SECTION 23 0501 – MECHANICAL DEMOLITION FOR REMODELING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A.Interior demolition, removal and abandonment of interior mechanical systems, including HVAC <br />systems, temperature control systems, rooftop units, exhaust fan kitchen hoods, gas piping, etc. <br />B.Cleaning and repair of existing equipment to remain. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT <br />A.Materials and equipment for patching work: As specified individual sections. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A.Verify field measurements and mechanical systems are as shown on drawings. <br />B.Verify that piping and ducting systems and equipment serve only areas shown on drawings. <br />C.Demolition drawings are based on casual field observation and existing record drawings. <br />Contractor to field verify exact conditions that exist. Report discrepancies to Architect/Engineer <br />before distributing existing installation. <br />D.Beginning of demolition means installer accepts existing conditions. <br />3.2 PREPARATION <br />A.Disconnect piping and ducting systems in walls, floors and ceilings scheduled for removal. <br />B.Provide temporary connections to maintain existing systems in service during construction. <br />3.3 DEMOLITION EXISTING MECHANICAL WORK <br />A.Remove existing installations to accommodate requirements for new construction. <br />B.Remove abandoned piping, ducting and equipment. <br />C.Cut piping flush with walls and floors, and patch surfaces. <br />D.Repair adjacent construction and finishes damaged during demolition work. <br />3.4 CLEANING AND REPAIR <br />A.Clean and repair existing materials and equipment which remain or are to be reused. <br />END OF SECTION 23 0501
