Geotechnical, Inc., Project No. 32-6325-00 <br />dated August 29, 2022 <br />Dear Mr. Houriani: <br />This report has been prepared to present the results of the percolation tests for the proposed on -site <br />stormwater infiltration system, The site is located at 1601 -1607 North Bristol Street in the city of Santa Ana, <br />California and is currently vacant. The location of the site is shown on the Location Map, (Figure 1). The site <br />is bound by North Bristol Street to the west, a vacant parking lot to the north, and by residential and <br />commercial properties to the east and south. Based on review of the Seismic Hazard Zones Map of the <br />Anaheim Quadrangle, the site is located within an area designated as liquefiable. <br />Percolation testing was conducted in two additional test pits. The test locations are shown on the enclosed <br />Plot Plan, (Figure 2). Two test pits were hand dug to a depth of four feet below the ground surface (bgs). A <br />one cubic foot hole (1' x 1' x 1') was excavated at the bottom of each of the test pits. The percolation testing <br />was performed at a depth of four to five feet. The 1 ft3 excavations were pre-soaked, refilled and percolation <br />tests were performed. Recorded water drop rates are shown on the enclosed Percolation Test Reports. The <br />percolation test results show that the measured infiltration rate is 1.0 in/hr and 0.9 in/hr for TP-3 and TP-4, <br />respectively. To arrive at the stabilized infiltration rate, we used the lowest six inches of the water column that <br />percolated in the bottom of the pit. No factor of safety was applied. <br />The upper on -site soils consist of light brown clayey sands in a moist and medium dense condition which are <br />not susceptible to hydroconsolidation. No groundwater was encountered in the test pit to the depth explored <br />of five feet below existing ground surface; however, perched waterwas encountered in our initial investigation <br />conducted on August 3, 2022, at a depth of about 50 feet bgs (See Referenced Report). According to the <br />"Seismic Hazard Evaluation of the Anaheim 7.5-Minute Quadrangle, Los Angeles County, California" dated <br />1997 by the Department of Conservation - Division of Mines and Geology, historically highest groundwater <br />level has been about 40 feet from the ground surface. The upper on -site soils are sufficiently permeable to <br />allow for the construction of a properly functioning infiltration facility. <br />Engineering Geology - Soil Engineering <br />
