Approved re rip TISSUANCE i pre -construction The following guidelines may be used in preparation of the grading plan and job specifications. 1) All site grading operations should conform to the local building and safety codes and to the rules and regulations of those governmental agencies having jurisdiction over the subject construction. 2) The grading contractor is responsible to notify governmental agencies, as required, and the Soils Engineer prior to initiating grading operations and any time grading is resumed after an interruption. 3) A diligent search for septic tanks, cesspools or underground lines should be performed during grading operations. Any abandoned water or oil wells encountered should be properly capped and treated in accordance with best accepted practices. 4) The on -site soils are suitable for use in compacted fills provided all trash, vegetation and other deleterious materials are removed prior to placement. 5) Where import materials are required for use on site, the Soils Engineer should be notified at least 48 hours in advance of importing in order to sample and test materials from proposed borrow sites. No import materials should be delivered for use on site without prior sampling and testing by the Soils Engineer. 6) All new fill shall consist of approved clean on -site or similar earth material, free of trash or debris, roots, vegetation or other deleterious material and shall be placed in thin horizontal lifts not exceeding 8 inches in loose thickness prior to compaction. Each lift should be watered or dried as needed, thoroughly blended to achieve near optimum moisture conditions then thoroughly compacted by mechanical methods. PACIFIC GEOTECH, INC.
