Concrete patios are generally adjacent to the building itself. Proper preparation of the area for con- crete patios is extremely important. Improper compaction or preparation will permit cracks and settle- ment of the paving that are not acceptable. It is required that all areas for concrete patios be excavated 12 inches and recompacted to the proper density as described above. 5
