Lumber shall be DF-L with Specific Gravity of 0.50 min. All panel edges shall be fastened to 2-inch nominal or wider framing.
2. Framing members receiving edge nailing from abutting panels shall not be less than a single 3x stud or wider nominal. All wood structural panel joint and sill plate
nailing shall be staggered at all panel edges. Nails shall be placed not less than 1/2" edge distance from the panel edges and 3/8" from the edge of the connecting
members.
3. Min two bolts per piece of sill plate and one located within 12" of each end of each sill plate. Placement of lag bolts: Min edge distance shall be (1.5)(bolt diameter);
Min end distance shall be (7)(bolt diameter), Min spacing shall be (4)(bolt diameter). Edge distances, end distances and spacing shall be sufficient to prevent splitting
of wood. If splitting occurs, notify the engineer for an alternate product.
4. Type I and J shearwalls shall have plywood installed on both sides. Install A35/LTP4 staggered on both sides. Blocking and studs at panel edges shall be min 3x in
thickness.
5. Type D, E, F, G, H shearwalls shall have min. 3x studs at panel edges. Special Inspection Required.
6. Plywood Panels may be either OSB, 3 ply, 4 ply or 5 ply plywood, unless specifically identified otherwise on plans.
7. For A35 and LTP4, use (12) 8dx1 1/2" nails.
8. Spacing for A35 and LTP4 may be reduced to max 16" oc if additional A35 and LTP4 are installed along same S/W line to meet the min qty required for the identified
spacing multiplied by S/W length. Also, Spacing of A35 and LTP4 may be doubled if placed on both sides of shearwall.
