Note only the self-weight of the structure is compared in <br />this section, not the total seismic weight. <br /> <br />Residential building <br />Dead Load, ETABS = 63,473 kips <br />Dead Load, hand calculations = 62,360 kips (< 2% difference, therefore OK) <br /> <br />Hotel building <br />Dead Load, ETABS = 18,379 kips <br />Dead Load, hand calculations = 17,348 kips <br /> <br />The hand calculations are shown in the following sheets. The building self-weight is calculated by <br />summation of weights of different structural elements, i.e. Slabs, Columns, Shear Walls and Beams. <br /> <br /> <br />
