Demolish and completely remove from site existing underground utilities indicated to be <br />removed. Coordinate with utility companies and owner to shutoff services if lines are active. <br />D. Traffic: Minimize interference with adjoining roads, streets, walks, and other adjacent occupied <br />or used facilities during earth moving operations. <br />1. Do not close or obstruct streets, walks, or other adjacent occupied or used facilities <br />without permission from Owner and authorities having jurisdiction. <br />2. Provide alternate routes around closed or obstructed traffic ways if required by Owner or <br />authorities having jurisdiction. <br />E. Improvements on Adjoining Property: Authority for performing earth moving indicated on <br />property adjoining Owner's property will be obtained by Owner before award of Contract. <br />1. Do not proceed with work on adjoining property until directed by Architect. <br />F. Utility Locator Service: Notify UNDERGROUND SERVICE ALERT for area where Project is <br />located before beginning earth moving operations. <br />G. Do not commence earth moving operations until temporary erosion/sedimentation control <br />measures, specified in Division 01 are in place. <br />H. Perched Groundwater was encountered at 20 feet below the ground surface during exploration. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 SOIL MATERIALS <br />A. General: Provide borrow soil materials when sufficient satisfactory soil materials are not <br />available from excavations. <br />B. Satisfactory Soils: Soil materials imported or excavated on the property determined to be <br />suitable as referenced in the project Geotechnical Investigation Report; and approved by the <br />Geotechnical Engineer. <br />C. Unsatisfactory Soils: Soil Classification Groups GC, SC, CL, ML, OL, CH, MH, OH, and PT <br />according to ASTM D 2487 or a combination of these groups. <br />1. Refer to Geotechnical Investigation Report, for unsuitable materials and disposal <br />methods for unsatisfactory soils. <br />D. Backfill and Fill Materials: Satisfactory soil materials. <br />E. Base Material: Shall conform to crushed aggregate base or crushed miscellaneous base, as <br />specified on plan, in accordance with section 200-2.2 or 200-2.4, respectively, of the Reference <br />Specification, and compacted to at least 95% of the maximum dry density as determined by <br />ASTM Test Method D 1557.
