Check each post for vertical and top alignment and maintain in position during placement and <br />finishing operation. <br />H. Align fence panels between posts. Firmly attach rail brackets to posts with ¼” (6 mm) bolt and <br />lock nut, ensuring panels and posts remain plumb. <br />3.4 GATE INSTALLATION <br />A. Install gates according to manufacturer's written instructions, level, plumb, and secure for full <br />opening without interference. <br />B. Attach hardware using tamper-resistant or concealed means. Install ground-set items in <br />concrete for anchorage. Adjust hardware for smooth operation and lubricate where necessary. <br />C. Gate posts shall be spaced according to the manufacturers’ gate drawings, dependent on <br />standard out-to-out gate leaf dimensions and gate hardware selected. Type and quantity of gate <br />hinges shall be based on the application; weight, height, and number of gate cycles. The <br />manufacturers’ gate drawings shall identify the necessary gate hardware required for the <br />application. Gate hardware shall be provided by the manufacturer of the gate and shall be <br />installed per manufacturer’s recommendations. <br />3.5 ADJUSTING <br />A. Gates: Adjust gates to operate smoothly, easily, and quietly, free of binding, warp, excessive <br />deflection, distortion, nonalignment, misplacement, disruption, or malfunction, throughout <br />entire operational range. Confirm that latches and locks engage accurately and securely without <br />forcing or binding. <br />B. Lubricate hardware and other moving parts. <br />3.6 DEMONSTRATION <br />A. Train Owner's personnel to adjust, operate, and maintain gates. <br />END OF SECTION 323119
