INTRODUCTION <br />Priority Engineering has conducted a site inspection, made a physical test of or <br />the following report of Geotechnical Investigation for the residential property 1 <br />St Santa Ana CA 92703. The investigation was made to provide site evaluation <br />proposed new accessory dwelling unit (ADU) to be constructed on the site. <br />SITE DESCRIPTION <br />The site, Assessor Parcel 198-021-01. <br />Latitude 33.755885 <br />Longitude-117.924064 <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />Planning and Building Agency <br />1225 N West St <br />Saner 92703 <br />Approved <br />FOR PERMIT ISSUANCE <br />soils and prepared <br />d at 15 N West <br />esien ata for a <br />The property is situated on an 8,258-square-foot, rectangular -shaped corner lot. The home, built in <br />1957, offers approximately 1,142 square feet of living space, consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 full <br />bathrooms, and an attached garage. The north and south property boundaries are 70 feet in length, <br />while the west and east boundaries measure 118 feet. The rear yard is enclosed by a perimeter block <br />wall. <br />Surrounding houses are composed of single family, wood framed, residential structures on similar size <br />lots. <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />Our scope of work consists of field and laboratory programs to evaluate the physical and engineering <br />properties of the onsite soils. <br />Description of the exploration and laboratory programs are presented below. <br />EXPLORATION AND FIELD INVESTIGATION PROGRAMS <br />On September 25, 2024, a field exploration was performed, which consisted of 2 borings, in the <br />approximate location of the proposed new two story multi -unit and ADU. <br />Hole # 1 was drilled to a depth of 10 ft. Equipment used was a hand operated power auger with <br />extensions. Moisture tests taken at 50" was 12.4% and at 71" was 11.9%. <br />Ring samples taken at 1 Oft and bulk sample taken at 5 ft. for laboratory testing. <br />The soil encountered was brownish gray silty sand. <br />The description of the subsurface soil and the depth of boring #1 are shown in Boring Log C1. <br />Hole #2 was drilled to a depth of 5ft. Equipment used was a hand operated power auger with <br />extensions. Moisture tests taken at 20" was 13.1% and at 41" was 10.9%. <br />Ring samples taken at 5 ft and bulk sample taken at 3 ft. for laboratory testing. <br />The soil encountered was brownish gray silty sand. <br />The description of the subsurface soil and the depth of boring #2 are shown in Boring Log C2. <br />
