Mix and apply patching mortar in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s written <br />instructions. <br />B. Immediately prior to patching, create a saturated surface dry surface with no glistening <br />water. <br />C. Spalls at existing reinforcement Type I <br />1. Apply anti-corrosion coating to cleaned rebars per manufacturer’s recommendations. <br />Observe manufacturer’s open times for anti-corrosion coating. <br />2. Apply a slurry coat over area to receive repair mortar. <br />3. While slurry coat is still wet, hand-apply patching mortar working material into voids <br />and around rebars. <br />4. Finish flush with existing wall surface. <br />D. Type II spalls (depth greater than 1/4 in and less than 1-1/2 in.) <br />1. Apply a slurry coat over area to receive repair mortar. <br />2. While slurry coat is still wet, hand-apply patching mortar working material into voids. <br />3. Finish flush with existing wall surface. <br />E. Type III spalls (depth greater than or equal to 1-1/2 in.) <br />1. Install drilled anchors and stainless steel wire. <br />a. Provide one anchor every 10 sq. in., with a minimum of two anchors per repair. <br />Set anchor with head at mid-depth of patch but in no case with less than 3/4 in. <br />clear concrete cover. <br />b. Wrap stainless steel wire between anchors in a crisscross pattern or use <br />stainless steel wire mesh. <br />2. Apply a slurry coat over area to receive repair mortar. <br />3. While slurry coat is still wet, hand-apply patching mortar working material into voids. <br />4. Finish flush with existing wall surface. <br />3.4 CRACK REPAIRS <br />A. Mix and apply patching mortar in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s written <br />instructions. <br />B. Immediately prior to patching, create a saturated surface dry surface with no glistening <br />water. <br />C. Apply a slurry coat, ensuring that interior surfaces of groove are coated prior to installation <br />of repair mortar. <br />D. While slurry coat is still wet, hand-apply patching mortar working material into corners of <br />groove. <br />E. Finish flush with existing wall surface to match existing wall/deck surface. <br />3.5 CURING <br />A. All curing should be in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations for <br />moisture curing, for a minimum of 7 days.
