These plans were reviewed for conformance with the
assumptions, conclusions, and recommendations of the above referenced report. The foundation plans
for the proposed development were prepared by Superior Electrical Advertising, Inc. and YJ, Inc. and
are identified as follows:
Page 02.1, dated May 3, 2016.
Page 14, dated May 3, 2016.
Page 14.1, dated May 3, 2016, Calculations by YJ, Inc
Page 15, dated May 3, 2016.
In addition, we contacted Mr. Yousif Jacob of YJ, inc. to discuss the proposed drilled pier
One comment was generated during our review of these plans and as a result of our communications
with Yl, Inc.:
The plans indicate that YJ, Inc. has designed a single 6-foot-diameter drilled pier that is 25, 3,,
below proposed finish grade. This drilled pier is larger than the 36-inch-diameter drilled pier and
shorter than the 42-foot-long drilled pier analyzed in the above-referenced report. Therefore, we
performed deep foundation analysis on the proposed 6-foot-diameter, 25'3'rlong drilled pier
based on the following design loads and settlemenvdeflection tolerances provided to me by yl,
Inc.:
. Design axial load at the top of the drilled pier (-ground surface): 9,000 lb. Design moment at the top of the drilled pier (-ground surface): 925,000 ft-lb. Design lateral load at the top of the drilled pier (-ground surface): 23,000 lb. l'laximum allowable lateral deflection at the top of the drilled pier: 3/a inch. Maximum allowable vertical settlement for the drilled pier: y2 inch
22885 Savi Ranch Parkway -
voice: (714) 685-1115 -
Suite E - Yorba Linda - Glifornia - 92887
tax: (7l4)685-1118 - www.lqeo.com
Gentlemen:
SoCalceo
