For projects rhat fail to meet the simple criteria. resolution steps have been suggested to provide as a parh to permit approval. Required lt{ormation for Permit: 1. Site plan showing location of major components on the property. This drawing need not be exactly to scale. but it should represent relative loca(ion of componenls at site (see supplied example site plan). PV arrays on dwellings with a f perimeter space at ridge and sides may not need separate frre service review. 2. Electrical diagram showing PV array connguration, wiring system, overcurrent protection, invertet disconnects. required signs. and ac connection to building (see supplied standard electrical diagram). 3. Specihcation sheets and installation manuals (iI available) for all manufactured components including, but not limited to. PV modules. inverter(s), combiner box, disconnects, and mounring system. Step 1 : Structural Review of PV Array Mounting System ls the array to be mounted on a defrned, permitted roof structure?Yes E no I No due to non-compliant rot{ or a grourul mount, submit completed worksheet lor the structure WKSI Roof InJoftnotion: l ls the roohng type lightweight (Yes = composition. lightweight masonry, meEl. etc...)YES ry No. submit completed worksheet for roof sffucture WI(SI (No = heavy masonry, slate. etc. . .) 2. Step 2: Electrical Review o[ PV System (Calculations lor Eleckical Diagram) ln order for a PV system to be considered for an expedited permit pmcess, the following must apply: I PV modules. utility-interactive inverters. and combiner boxes are identihed for use in PV systems. 2. The Pv array is composed of 4 series strings or less per inverter. 3. The total invefler capacity has a conrinuous ac power ourput 13.440 Watts or less 4. The ac interconnect,on point is on the load side of service disconnecting means (690.64(8)). 5. One of the standard electrical diagrams (El.l, El.la. El.lb, or El.lc) can be used ro accurately represent the PV system. lnreractive PDF diagrams are available at www.solarabcs.org/permitting. Fill out the standard electrical diagram completely. A guide to the electrical diagram is provided to help the applicanf understand each blank to jU in. If the electrical system is more complex than the standard electrical diagram can elJectively communicdte. provide an alternative diagram with appropriate detail. 2 EXPEDITED IERMIT PROCESS FOR PV SYSTEMS x I-l o =Poa c = --t = alPc slN u.reppee nueqE ^s,"",0 M!ce' :azrs cv r-ljals^s .0rz6vc .u.Ns v Dr.sr.o /,^ 606' :ssalppv alls qN^ :auteN alls sLuols^s nd aseqd-el6urs 'alecs-lleLUS rol ueld oIS s0aa6 Yf, .w @.s r-rrs l.'puu 's 160! vap6dr3 &38.S t t I I I I t I I I a I I It a I i i I NV'rd rlrs wrrs^S DNrdr_s cruvcrNVr-s I l 1 j1-rE* I l. . . . .-. . || t l STANDARD STRING SYSTTTt ETECTRICEI DIACRAM One-Line Standard Electrical Diagram for Small-Scale, Single-Phase PV Systems Site Address: .soe w o.kndd ^v. sanhan. cae?703 System AC Size Site Name r,.N.3' Bobby sandoval DateNTS o EQUIPMENT SChEDULT I I r t! 6 ! s 9 AG DESCRIPTION SOLAR PV MODULE PV ARRAY J.BOX (IF USED) COMBINER (lF USEO) DC DISCONNECT DCiAC INVERTER GEN l\,,lETER (lF USED) AC DISCONNECT (IF USED) SERVICE PANEL PART NUI\48ER NOTES Sota€ity slandard 325 14 [,4odules D6[a , Solrvla 3.8 TL UIILITY SERVICE } OG22IURB Cutl6.Hammer 30A 240vac No^J!s ble NEMA 3R =240= vAC. 1o,o A MA|N. roo I gg5. .o A TNVERTER oCpD (SEE NoTE 5 FoR INVERTER OCPDS.
