STANDARD STRINC SYSTEM
The Solar America Board for Codes and Srandards (Solar ABCS) Expedired permii pro-
cess provides a means to djfferentiate systems that can be permitted quickly and easily
due to their stmilarity wirh the majoriry of small-scale pV sysrems. Those sysiems r,virh
unique characteristics may be handled with small addjtions ro rhis Expedited permir
Process or may require much more information, depending on the uniqueness of the
installation.
The following pages conrain forms for rhe Srandard Srring Sys(em ro use wirh rhe Expe-
dired Permit Process. The Micro-lnvefier, AC Module, and Supply-Side Connection forms
are also available as inreracrive PDF tiles at www.solarabcs.org/permirring. In jurisdic-
tions that have adopted the Expedired Permir process for pV Sysrems, rhese forms can
be filled out electronically and submitted in eirher prinred form and via email. An elec-
tronic tormat is used so that rhe supplied in[ormation is srandarclized and legible for rhe
local jurisdiction.

The information in rhis guideline is intended ro help Iocal jurisdictions and conrractors idenriry when PV system installations
arc simplc, nccding only n basic review and when an insmllation is more complex. It is likely rhat 50 % -75 % of all residendal
systems will comply with these simple crirena. For projects thal farl Lo meet the simple criteria, resoiution srcps have been
suggested to provide as a path to permit approval.
