Califomia 92704. Dear Mr. Do/Mr. Vo In accordance with the requirements of the City and per your request and authorization. this certification has been prepared for the demolition and backfllling of the prc-existing swimming pool located 5 I l0 W. David Avenue. Santa Ana. Califomia 92704. We understand that creation ofdrainage holes along the bottom ofthe swimnring pool by puncturing/breaking-out the pool shell bottom has bcen approved by the City inspector prior to backfilting the swimming pool. 2. Removal oi the coping, bond beam, and upper portions of the swimming pool shell side walls has also been perlbrmed and approved by the City Inspector. 3. All utility lines serving the swimming pool including electric. gas. and water lines were terminated/disconnected/removed and plugged/capped in an approved manner, and approved by the City Inspector. 4. Some concrete chunks of the removed coping. bond beam, and swimming pool shell were placed along the bottom of the swimming pool to be used as a layer of free- drainage-materials. 5. The regular soil fill materials generally consisted of yellowish bror,m silty fine sand with traces of clay. were placed in thin lifts. added water by using a water hose. and compacted to 907o relative density by using a Bobcat and a hand-held vibratory compaction plate. Conclusion: The demolition and backlilling of the pre-existing swimming pool is considered geotechnically acceptable and suitable for the intended use for landscaping/ non-structural purposes. Note: If a structural objeot such as a room addition is to be constructed at or near the swimming pool backfill area in the future. a qualified geotechnical engineer should be consulted and a soil report should be prepared for provision of geotechnical recommendations for foundation design.
