Will the PV systsm layoul provide the raquired three-foot wide clear access pathways
per Section 605.11 of the Califomia Fire Code, and is this shown on the roof plan?
Will ths PV systsm be installed on a roof having only one roofing layer with no
overlays?
Will the PV anay be flush mounted to the existing roof so that the plane of lhe
modules (panels) are parallel lo the plane of the roof?
Will the PV system weigh maximum 4 pounds per square feel or less?
Will the PV system be installed where the modules do not overhang any roof edges
(such as eaves, gabled ends, ridges and hips)?
Willthe PV system be installed with a space of 2'minimum to 10" maximum between
the underside of modules and the surface of the roof?
Will the PV syslem be installed without using any ballast system or counter-weight
system?
\,vill the anchors be installed with a maximum horizontal anchor spacing of 6 fset
and is this maximum horizontal spacing shown on the plans?
Will the minimum 5/16' lag screws be installed with a minimum ot 2-112 inch

shown on the plans?
Are ALL the structural pages of the plans WET stamped and signed by a Califomia
licensed professional engineer? (including projecl specific sile plan, PV layout,
anchorage spacing, anchorage details and manufaclure/s PV support information.)

State of California requires that smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms are installed in residential
b u ildings.
California Residential Code (CRC)Section R314.1 and R315.2 states in part that existing dwellings be
"retrofitted with smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. CRC Section R314.3 and R314.3,3 define
the requ ired locations.
4\soth boxes below must be checked:
E Carbon monoxide alarms: Are installed outside of each sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of
bedrooms and also on each level of the dwelling. Alarms are required in bedrooms with gas-fired
appliances (i.e. hot water heater, cooktop, furnace) or a fireplace.
El Smoke alarms: Are installed in each room used for sleeping, in each hallway outside of a sleeping
room, and on each level of the dwelling,
Retrofitted detectors may be battery-operated for buildings where no interior alterations are
performed. Combination Smoke/CO alarms must comply with all applicable standards and be approved
by the State Fire Marshall (SFM). Battery life must be 10 years.

that smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms have been installed in compliance with the governing
Codes and have been tested to be functional. l, also, hereby certify that I will retest the alarms per the
manufacturer's instructions.

process is applicable ONLY to Wojects where access to the interior of the dwelling by a Santa And
lnspector is not required.
