However, the 1982 Uniform Building Code, section 303(d) entitled Expiration states thaE, rrEvery permiE issued by the buiLdlng officlal under the provision of this code shaIl expire by limitation and become nu11 and void if the buildlng or work authorized by such permj.t is not comrnenced within 180 days from the date of such p ermit, or if Ehe buildin or work authorized b SUCh ermit is sus ended or abandoned at an time a fter the work is commenced for a period of 180 days. Failure to comply wi.th the 180 day tirne lj.mitation outlined under section 303(d) abovewill result in the expiration of your building permit, which in turn will necessitate posting and vacation of the building in accordance with the provisions of the Santa Ana Seismic Safety 0rdinance.
