The purpose of this letter is to again inform you of the requirements of the City
of Santa l,na's Seismic Safety Ordinance (Article XI Chapter 8, Santa Ana Municipal Code).
The time for submittal for an application for an appeal or for alternate classifi-
cation or for a permit for partial repairs as provided for in lhe Ordinance has exPired.
This letter is to inform you that under the provisions of the 0rdinance the owner ls
required to provide a structural analysis prepared by a licensed structural engineer,
civj.t englneer or architect. This structural analysis, together with plans and ca1-
culations necessary for corrective vork, is tc be submitted to the Cityrs DepartmenE
of Planning and Development Services for review by April 24, 1984. Permits required to
accomplish the necessary structural alterations must be obtained by Jui 29 1984. The
required alterations must commence within one hundred eighty (180) days from the date
the pernit !s lssued, and the bullding must be corrected to meet the minimum require-
menls of the Ordinance not later than July 29, 1986. As you should be avare, this is
the same information provided you j.n the oriSinal Notice and Order sent to you on
Ju ly 29, 1983.
The consequences of failing to comply with any of the dates of the Ordinance are that
you will be required to vacate the bulldlng and leave it vacant until such time that
you have cornpleted the seismic rehabilitation work or you may be required to demolish
ihe structure. In addition, you nay be subject to criminal or civil action taken by
the Clty Attorney. In order to avoid these consequences, I recommend that you take
irunediate action to submit the structural analysis, plans, and obtain permits as re-
quired by the Ordinance.
