Per CBC section 1206.3.2 Air intake. Coufts more than two stories in heigtrt shall be providecl
with a horizontal air intake at the bottol-n not less than l0 square feet in area ancl LEADING
to the exterior of the building unless abutting a yard or public way.
For courtyards 5 & 6 in lieu of having the horizontal air intake at the bottom not less than
l0 square feet leading from the exterior of the building both courtyards are mechanically
ventilated at the podium level. Both courtyards have approxirnately 250 cfm of air florv which
supply make-up air to the corridor ventilation systems thru the open passageways. The
corridor ventilation systems are designed to operate 2417, therefore, the courtyards will have
continuous iir movement, lvhich lve believe satisfy's the intent of the code.
