NOTE:
1. NEW SERVICE PANEL MUST BE COMBINATION/ALL-IN-ONE, AND METER AND MAIN CANNOT BE SEPARATE.
2. LISTED COMBINATION OVERHEAD AND UNDERGROUND FEED SERVICE BOXES REQUIRED.
NOTE:
200A SERVICE REQUIRES A MINIMUM 4 AWG CONDUCTOR TO 10' OF UNDERGROUND METAL WATER PIPE ELECTRODE.
BOND ON THE INSIDE/OUTSIDE WITHIN FIRST 5' OF WHERE THE WATER ENTERS THE BUILDING. AN ADDITIONAL
CONNECTION UFER OR 2 NEW RODS IS NEEDED - LOCATED 6' FROM OTHER ELECTRODES. WATER PIPE MAY NOT BE USED
TO BOND ANY ELECTRODES UNLESS BURIED OR ENCASED, ELECTRODE CONNECTIONS MUST BE ACCESSIBLE.

PLANCHECK NOTE:
Per Site Plan Sheet PV-1.0, a grounding electrode conductor (GEC)
system must be installed at the two separate buildings--the ADU and
the Garage. If there is already a GEC system present, a new one is
not required. At these separate buildings, the GEC system is bonded
to the PV panel ground and the EGC of the building (as in a subpanel
for the ADU). The neutrals, EGCs and the GEC system are all NOT
bonded together anywhere but at the service disconnect at the main
meter panel. CEC 690.47, 250.24(A)(1), 250.24(B), 250.32(A,B)

CA- CA-City Of SANTA ANA RE:
Project Name: Haverstick, Chiaki
Project Address: 2050 W Martha Ln, Santa Ana, CA 92706.
To whom it may concern:
Thank you for reviewing and providing feedback on this project. The following is our
response to the comments provided by the plan review, the numbers below correspond with
the comment numbers provided in the city comment list:
COMMENTS:
1.Comment: There can only be ONE power source attached to the main bus per the
120% rule CEC 705.12(B)(3)(2). Combine the backfeed sources together in a
separate panel with their own OCPD breakers.
Response: We've revised the mentioned connection, combined the existing and new solar
using a load center, and fed them to the enphase controller. Refer to E-1.0 for details.
2.Comment: What are the conductors and the conduit schedule for these relocated
loads? Be sure to account for ampacity reduction due to number of current carrying
conductors (CEC 310.15(C) (1) and allow for required AFCI breakers if the length of the
conduit exceeds 6 feet. CEC 210.12(D).
Response We've shown the size of conductors and conduits used for the critical load
panel on E-1.1 and the distance between the IQ system controller,MSP and the critical
load panel will be approximately 1 feet which is less than 6 feet. Distance and conduit
length are mentioned in the line diagram & Equipment elevation view on pages E-1.0 &
E-1.5.
3.Comment: The existing PV back feed must be integrated with the new PV system. It
cannot be located on the main panel along with the 100A IQ backfeed breaker (which is

Attn: To Whom It May Concern
This Letter is for the existing roof framing which supports the new PV modules as well as the attachment of the
PV system to existing roof framing. From the field observation report, the roof is made of Composition shingle
roofing over roof plywood supported by 2X4 Rafters at 24 inches and 2X12 Rafters at 16 inches. The slope of
the roof was approximated to be 18 and 22 degrees.
After review of the field observation data and based on our structural capacity calculation, the existing roof
framing has been determined to be adequate to support the imposed loads without structural upgrades.
Contractor shall verify that existing framing is consistent with the described above before install. Should they
find any discrepancies, a written approval from SEOR is mandatory before proceeding with install. Capacity
calculations were done in accordance with applicable building codes.

It
cannot be located on the main panel along with the 100A IQ backfeed breaker (which is
to be current limited to 70 total backfeed).
Response: We've shown the correct PV backfeed value in the SLD. Refer to E-1.0

Thank you for reviewing and providing feedback on this project. The following is our
response to the comments provided by the plan review, the numbers below correspond with
the comment numbers provided in the city comment list:
COMMENTS:
1.Comment: Is this 125A subpanel supplying the ADU? Show Details.
Response: Yes!, the 125A sub-panel is supplying the ADU.
2.Comment: There is already a service meter upgrade permit in play. Permit
#20182612 Issued 4/24/24. There cannot be another Service meter as a part of this
project as proposed. You must reflect the current service equipment being installed
as a part of this design.
Response: We revised the MSP to the existing one. Refer to its m leaders on PV-1.0 and
in line diagram E-1.0.
3.Comment: There can only be ONE power source attached to the main bus per the
120% rule CEC 705.12(B)(3)(2). Combine the backfeed sources together in a
separate panel with their own OCPD breakers.
Response: We've removed the mentioned connection, combined the existing and new
solar using a load center, and fed them to the enphase controller. Refer to E-1.0 for
details.
4.Comment: This is incorrect. You must also include the ESS backup power sources.
The total available backfeed current for the proposed project is 92.94A. The PV
system provides 40.84A and the 2 ESS units total [(5000 / 240) x (2) x (1.25)] =
52.1A. The existing 20A PV backfeed is added to create a total backfeed on the
225A bus of 112.94A. Redesign the system to keep the total backfeed current at 70A
or less for code compliance.
Response: We've removed the m leader and added a note for the PCS-controlled current
setting with value. Refer to E-1.0 for details.
Note: Plans reflect a change in equipment from Tesla to Enphase Batteries
and Gateway. The responses below correlate with the city corrections
requested and the new version plans where applicable.

5. Comment: What loads are being relocated here?
Provide detailed panel schedules for the Main Panel and the Critical Load panel--include
ACCURATE ckt descriptions and loads.
Response: We've included the panel schedules for the main panel and the critical load
panel. Refer to E-1.2 & E-1.3 for details.
6. Comment: What are the conductors and the conduit schedule for these relocated
loads? Be sure to account for ampacity reduction due to number of current carrying
conductors (CEC 310.15(C)(1)) and allow for required AFCI breakers if the length
of the conduit exceeds 6 feet. CEC 210.12(D).
Response: We've shown the size of conductors and conduits used for the critical load
panel on E-1.1 and the distance between the IQ system controller and the critical load
panel will be approximately 2 feet which is less than 6 feet. Distance is mentioned in the
line diagram on page E-1.0.
7. Comment: Specify the building that each of these arrays is sitting upon.
Response: We've specified the location of the arrays on which building they mounted on
E-1.0.
8. Comment: Each PV array MUST be grounded to the GEC system located at the
building upon which the array sits. If there is no GEC system, one MUST be added.
Clearly show and specify the GEC system for EACH building, and how the PV
arrays are to be bonded to these building GEC systems.
Response: We've shown new the GEC system for the ADU and the garage building since
the main house has the existing GEC. Refer to PV-1.0 and E-1.0 for details.
9. Comment: There is almost nothing right about this placard!
This placard is for Emergency Responders—to QUICKLY identify how to shut off
power to the buildings. It is NOT a store directory.
Re-Work the placard as follows (See CEC 705.10):
a) The entire “warning” statement is wrong. It should read “CAUTION:
MULTIPLE SOURCES OF POWER”.
b) Eliminate ALL wording that is NOT for a disconnect or ESS source.
1) Show the batteries as ESS period.
2) Show the Main panel, AC disconnect, PV Inverter, Load Center (which has
the ESS disconnects).
c) The existing PV system is NOT rapid shutdown compliant. Place a DOTTED
line around the existing PV panels to identify them as not-RS compliant. See
CEC 690.56(C)(1)
Response: We've revised the placards under the above instructions on E-1.4.

ELECTRONIC RECORD AND SIGNATURE DISCLOSURE
From time to time, RNR Roofing, Inc. (we, us or Company) may be required by law to provide
to you certain written notices or disclosures. Described below are the terms and conditions for
providing to you such notices and disclosures electronically through the DocuSign, Inc.
(DocuSign) electronic signing system. Please read the information below carefully and
thoroughly, and if you can access this information electronically to your satisfaction and agree to
these terms and conditions, please confirm your agreement by clicking the ‘I agree’ button at the
bottom of this document.
Getting paper copies
At any time, you may request from us a paper copy of any record provided or made available
electronically to you by us. You will have the ability to download and print documents we send
to you through the DocuSign system during and immediately after signing session and, if you
elect to create a DocuSign signer account, you may access them for a limited period of time
(usually 30 days) after such documents are first sent to you. After such time, if you wish for us to
send you paper copies of any such documents from our office to you, you will be charged a
$0.00 per-page fee. You may request delivery of such paper copies from us by following the
procedure described below.
Withdrawing your consent
If you decide to receive notices and disclosures from us electronically, you may at any time
change your mind and tell us that thereafter you want to receive required notices and disclosures
only in paper format. How you must inform us of your decision to receive future notices and
disclosure in paper format and withdraw your consent to receive notices and disclosures
electronically is described below.
Consequences of changing your mind
If you elect to receive required notices and disclosures only in paper format, it will slow the
speed at which we can complete certain steps in transactions with you and delivering services to
you because we will need first to send the required notices or disclosures to you in paper format,
and then wait until we receive back from you your acknowledgment of your receipt of such
paper notices or disclosures. To indicate to us that you are changing your mind, you must
withdraw your consent using the DocuSign ‘Withdraw Consent’ form on the signing page of a
DocuSign envelope instead of signing it. This will indicate to us that you have withdrawn your
consent to receive required notices and disclosures electronically from us and you will no longer
be able to use the DocuSign system to receive required notices and consents electronically from
us or to sign electronically documents from us.
All notices and disclosures will be sent to you electronically
Unless you tell us otherwise in accordance with the procedures described herein, we will provide
electronically to you through the DocuSign system all required notices, disclosures,
authorizations, acknowledgements, and other documents that are required to be provided or
made available to you during the course of our relationship with you. To reduce the chance of
you inadvertently not receiving any notice or disclosure, we prefer to provide all of the required
notices and disclosures to you by the same method and to the same address that you have given
us. Thus, you can receive all the disclosures and notices electronically or in paper format through
the paper mail delivery system. If you do not agree with this process, please let us know as
described below. Please also see the paragraph immediately above that describes the
consequences of your electing not to receive delivery of the notices and disclosures
