GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES:

SHORING AND BACKING REQUIRED FOR THE PROTECTION OF LIFE AND PROPERTY
DURING INSTALLATION.
d. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND APPARATUS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO,
SWITCHBOARDS, MOTORS AND CONTROL CENTERS, PANEL BOARDS AND
TRANSFORMERS MUST BE SEISMIC-CERTIFIED AND ANCHORED ACCORDING TO
EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (CEC 110.3 (B), CBC
1613.1, AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS (ASCE) 7-10, CHAPTER 13 SEISMIC
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS.
e. DUST SHALL BE CONTROLLED AT ALL THE TIMES. WASTE WATER GENERATED DURING
CONSTRUCTION SHALL NOT BE DISCHARGED INTO THE STORM DRAIN SYSTEM. THIS
INCLUDES WASTE FROM PAINTING, SAW CUTTING, CONCRETE WORK, ETC. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO ELIMINATE DISCHARGES INTO THE
STORM DRAIN SYSTEM AND, IF NECESSARY, PROVIDE AN AREA FOR ON-SITE WASHING
ACTIVITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION. MATERIALS THAT COULD CONTAMINATE STORM
RUNOFF SHALL BE STORED IN AREAS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO PREVENT EXPOSURE TO
RAINFALL AND NOT ALLOW STORM WATER TO RUN ON TO THE AREA
f. CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL SHALL BE SPECIFIED AND REQUIRED BY THE LATEST
EDITION OF THE BUILDING CODE CURRENTLY ADOPTED BY THE AHJ INCLUDING
ANY/ALL LOCALLY ENFORCED CODES AND AUTHORITIES.ALL MATERIALS AND
EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED, APPLIED AND CONNECTED AS DIRECTED BY THE
MANUFACTURERS LATEST WRITTEN SPECIFICATIONS EXPECT WHERE OTHERWISE
NOTED. MATERIALS NOTED ON THE DRAWINGS SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THESE
SPECIFICATIONS.

8. NO PIPING, NO DUCTS OF EQUIPMENT FOREIGN TO ELECTRICAL
EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PERMITTED TO BE LOCATED WITHIN THE
DEDICATED SPACE ABOVE THE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
9. ALL ITEMS SHOWN ARE EXISTING U.O.N.

17. ALL SECTIONS OF MAIN SWITCHBOARD SHALL HAVE THE
HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL BUSS BARS RATED FOR THE AMPERE
RATING SHOWN ON SINGLE LINE DIAGRAMS. REDUCTION OF
AMPERE RATING OF BUSS BARS THROUGHOUT THE SECTIONS OF
MAIN SWITCHBOARDS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
18. NOTIFY SWITCHBOARD PANEL BOARDS MANUFACTURERS OF
FEEDER TERMINATIONS (TOP OR BOTTOM) PRIOR TO SUBMITTING
SHOP DRAWINGS.
19. PROVIDE A METALLIC CARD HOLDER ON INSIDE OF DOOR OF EACH
PANEL BOARD FOR INDEX CARD AND ACCURATE TYPEWRITTEN
PANEL SCHEDULE BE PUT BEHIND HEAVY PLASTIC COVER INTO
EACH PANEL. ROOM NUMBERS SHALL NOT BE THE ONES ON THE
PLANS BUT THE ONES DESIGNATED BY THE ARCHITECT AND/OR

22. PROVIDE BLACK ON WHITE LAMINATED PLASTIC NAMEPLATE

EQUIPMENT, SWITCHBOARD(S), DISTRIBUTION BOARD(S), PANEL
BOARDS AND DISCONNECTS ETC, WITH RIVETS, BOLTS, OR SHEET
METAL SCREWS. CEMENT ATTACHMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
23. TIME SWITCHES, CONTACTORS, RELAYS, ETCH SHOWN TO BE
FURNISHED WITH PANEL BOARDS SHALL BE LOCATED IN
BARRIERED COMPARTMENTS BEHIND SEPARATE DOORS, MAINTAIN
2" OF SOLD TRIP BETWEEN DOORS. IF NECESSARY, INSTALL
SWITCHES, CONTACTORS, RELAYS, ETCH IN SEPARATE
WEATHERPROOF CABINETS WITH HINGED LOCKABLE DOORS.
PROVIDE SCREW-ON TYPE NAMEPLATES, FULLY COMPLY WITH
LATEST HANDICAP STANDARDS.
IMPORTANT BID NOTES:
1. DUE TO THE SMALL SCALE OF DRAWINGS, IT IS NOT ALWAYS
POSSIBLE TO SHOW ALL DEVICES WHICH MAYBE REQUIRED.
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO VERIFY ALL EXISTING
CONDITIONS BEFORE SUBMITTING HIS/HER BID. NO ADDITIONAL
COMPENSATION WILL BE MADE FOR EXTRA DUE TO CONTRACTOR'S
FAILURE TO VISIT THE JOB SITE AND/OR FAILURE TO DETERMINE ALL

2. REFER TO COMPLETE ARCHITECTURAL AND ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS

ETC. REPORT TO ARCHITECTURE'S CLARIFICATION IN BASE BID. THIS
REQUIREMENT WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. NO CHANGE ORDERS

FUNCTION.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW, VERIFY AND MEET ALL SPECIFICATION
AND STANDARD AS DENOTED IN DIVISION 26 SPEC BOOK.
DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. THE DRAWINGS SHOW THE WORK TO BE IN PLACE AT THE
COMPLETION OF INSTALLATION. MAKE NECESSARY ALTERATIONS
TO COORDINATE AND CONNECT THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL WORK
WITH THE NEW SUCH THAT, WHEN THE WORK IS DONE, THE ENTIRE
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION, EXISTING AND NEW, IS IN COMPLETE
OPERATING CONDITION.
2. UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED ON THE CONTRARY, ALL EXISTING
LIGHTING FIXTURES, SWITCHES, CONTROLS AND OTHER MATERIALS
OR EQUIPMENTS WHICH ARE REPLACED BY NEW AND ARE NOT
INDICATED TO BE REUSED SHALL BE RETURNED TO THE OWNER OR
BE DISPOSED AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER.
3. EXISTING MATERIAL TO REMAIN UPON COMPLETION IS INDICATED
ON DRAWINGS AS EXISTING, FEEDERS (CONDUIT AND WIRES) ARE
EXISTING TO THEIR RESPECTIVE SOURCE. ALTHOUGH NOT
INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. TEMPORARY REMOVAL OR
RE-ROUTE CONDUITS AND REPLACE EXISTING WIRES WITH NEW
DURING CONSTRUCTION WORK MAYBE REQUIRED.
4. PROVIDE AND INSTALL NEW COVER PLATES FOR ALL REMOVED
OUTLETS, SWITCHES, LIGHT FIXTURES, AND OTHER ELECTRICAL
DEVICES WHEN THE OUTLET BOX IS TO REMAIN.
5. REMOVE ALL EXISTING ABANDONED FEEDERS (CONDUITS AND
WIRES) BACK TO PANEL BOARDS. LABEL NEW PANEL DIRECTORY AS
"SPARE".
6. MAINTAIN CONTINUITY OF ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, EQUIPMENT,
ETC., FED BY ABANDONED OUTLET. THEY SHOULD BE IN OPERATION
AFTER THE WORK IS DONE. MAINTAINING CONTINUITY SHALL
CONSIST OF RE-ROUTING OF CONDUIT AND WIRING, AS REQUIRED
TO SUIT THE EXISTING CONDITIONS.
7. (E) J-BOX DENOTES APPROXIMATE LOCATION OF EXISTING BOXES
IN ACCESSIBLE CEILING SPACE. ALL CONDUIT SHOWN FROM J-BOX
IS NEW UNLESS SHOWN OTHERWISE AS EXISTING.
8. EXISTING LOADS SHOWN ON PANEL SCHEDULES ARE BASED ON

STRIPING AND MARKINGS:

HATCHED LINES A MINIMUM OF 36 INCHES ON CENTER
3. THE COLOR OF THE BORDERLINES, HATCHED LINES, AND LETTERS
SHALL CONTRAST WITH THAT OF THE SURFACE OF THE ACCESS

4. THE COLOR OF ALL STRIPING AND MARKINGS SHALL NOT BE THE

1109.16.1 Existing facilities. Where Electric Vehicle
Charging Stations are either added or altered within a
facility having existing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations,
the requirements this section shall apply only to the
newly installed or altered Electric Vehicle Charging
Stations.
1109.16.2 Minimum number. Where Electric Vehicle
Charging Stations are provided for public use, the
minimum number of accessible Electric Vehicle Charging
Stations shall be provided in accordance with Table
1109.16.2. Where new Electric Vehicle Charging
Stations are installed in facilities with existing Electric
Vehicle Charging Stations, the total number provided in
Table 1109.16.2 shall include both existing and new
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. Where an Electric
Vehicle Charging Station charger can simultaneously
charge more than one vehicle, the number of Electric
Vehicle Charging Station chargers provided shall be
considered equivalent to the number of electric vehicles
that can be simultaneously charged.
Parking spaces serving Electric Vehicle Charging
Stations per this section shall not account for any of the
accessible parking spaces (as required by Section 1106)
on the site unless specifically provided with accessible
identification signage per Section 1109.16.6.
Exception:
1. Electric Vehicle Charging Stations not available to
the general public and intended for use by a designated
vehicle or driver shall not be required to comply with this
section. Examples include, but are not limited to,
charging stations serving public or private fleet vehicles,
assigned to an employee, or serving private residences.
