SWITCH AT THE ACCESS POINT.
2. LIGHTING INSTALLED IN A CLOSET SHALL BE A SURFACE MOUNTED OR RECESSED
FLUORESCENT FIXTURE OR A SURFACE MOUNTED INCANDESCENT FIXTURE WITH COMPLETELY
ENCLOSED LAMPS OR RECESSED INCANDESCENT FIXTURE WITH COMPLETELY ENCLOSED
LAMPS. SURFACE INCANDESCENT LIGHTING SHALL BE INSTALLED A MINIMUM OF 12 IN. FROM THE
NEAREST POINT OF A STORAGE SPACE. SURFACE FLUORESCENT LIGHTING AND RECESSED
LIGHTING SHALL BE INSTALLED A MINIMUM OF 6 IN. FROM THE NEAREST POINT OF A STORAGE

E. FANS
IN BATHROOMS CONTAINING TUBS OR SHOWERS, A FAN CAPABLE OF EXHAUSTING 50 CFM SHALL
BE INSTALLED (ENERGY STANDARDS 150 (O)).
F. SMOKE ALARMS
IN NEW CONSTRUCTION, SMOKE ALARMS SHALL RECIEVE THEIR PRIMARY POWER FROM THE
BUILDING WIRING. THE WIRING SHALL BE PERMANENT AND INSTALLED WITHOUT A
DISCONNECTING SWITCH OTHER THAN THOSE REQUIRED FOR OVERCURRENT PROTECTION (CBC
[F] 907.2.11.6).
STORM WATER MANAGEMENT:
1. ERODED SEDIMENTS AND OTHER POLLUTANTS MUST BE RETAINED ON SITE AND MAY NOT BE
TRANSPORTED FROM THE SITE VIA SHEETFLOW, SWALES, AREA DRAINS, NATURAL DRAINAGE
COURSES OR WINDS.
2. STOCKPILES OF EARTH AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION RELATED MATERIALS MUST BE PROTECTED
FROM BEING TRANSPORTED FROM THE SITE BY THE FORCES OF WIND OR WATER.
3. FUELS, OILS, SOLVENTS AND OTHER TOXIC MATERIALS MUST BE STORED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THEIR LISTING AND ARE NOT TO CONTAMINATE THE SOIL AND SURFACE WATERS. ALL APPROVED
STORAGE CONTAINERS ARE TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE WEATHER. SPILLS MUST BE CLEANED UP
IMMEDIATELY AND DISPOSED OF IN A PROPER MANNER. SPILLS MAY NOT BE WASHED INTO THE
DRAINAGE SYSTEM.
4. NON-STORMWATER RUNOFF FROM EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLE WASHING AND ANY OTHER
ACTIVITY SHALL BE CONTAINED AT THE PROJECT SITE.
5. EXCESS OR WASTE CONCRETE MAY NOT BE WASHED INTO THE PUBLIC WAY OR ANY OTHER
DRAINAGE SYSTEM. PROVISIONS SHALL BE MADE TO RETAIN CONCRETE WASTES ON SITE UNTIL
THEY CAN BE DISPOSED OF AS SOLID WASTE.
6. TRASH AND CONSTRUCTOIN RELATED SOLID WASTES MUST BE DEPOSITED INTO A CONVERED

IN NEW CONSTRUCTION, SMOKE ALARMS SHALL RECIEVE THEIR PRIMARY POWER FROM THE
BUILDING WIRING. THE WIRING SHALL BE PERMANENT AND INSTALLED WITHOUT A
DISCONNECTING SWITCH OTHER THAN THOSE REQUIRED FOR OVERCURRENT PROTECTION (CBC

STORM WATER MANAGEMENT:
1. ERODED SEDIMENTS AND OTHER POLLUTANTS MUST BE RETAINED ON SITE AND MAY NOT BE
TRANSPORTED FROM THE SITE VIA SHEETFLOW, SWALES, AREA DRAINS, NATURAL DRAINAGE
COURSES OR WINDS.
2. STOCKPILES OF EARTH AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION RELATED MATERIALS MUST BE PROTECTED
FROM BEING TRANSPORTED FROM THE SITE BY THE FORCES OF WIND OR WATER.
3. FUELS, OILS, SOLVENTS AND OTHER TOXIC MATERIALS MUST BE STORED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THEIR LISTING AND ARE NOT TO CONTAMINATE THE SOIL AND SURFACE WATERS. ALL APPROVED
STORAGE CONTAINERS ARE TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE WEATHER. SPILLS MUST BE CLEANED UP
IMMEDIATELY AND DISPOSED OF IN A PROPER MANNER. SPILLS MAY NOT BE WASHED INTO THE
DRAINAGE SYSTEM.
4. NON-STORMWATER RUNOFF FROM EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLE WASHING AND ANY OTHER
ACTIVITY SHALL BE CONTAINED AT THE PROJECT SITE.
5. EXCESS OR WASTE CONCRETE MAY NOT BE WASHED INTO THE PUBLIC WAY OR ANY OTHER
DRAINAGE SYSTEM. PROVISIONS SHALL BE MADE TO RETAIN CONCRETE WASTES ON SITE UNTIL
THEY CAN BE DISPOSED OF AS SOLID WASTE.
6. TRASH AND CONSTRUCTOIN RELATED SOLID WASTES MUST BE DEPOSITED INTO A CONVERED
RECEPTACLE TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF RAINWATER AND DISPEARSAL BY WIND.
7. SEDIMENTS AND OTHER MATERIALS MAY NOT BE TRACKED FROM THE SITE BY VEHICLE TRAFFIC.
THE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE ROADWAYS MUST BE STABILIZED SO AS TO INHIBIT SEDIMENTS
FROM BEING DEPOSITED INTO THE PUBLIC WAY.
8. ACCIDENTAL DESPOSITIONS MUST BE SWEPT UP IMMEDIATELY AND MAY NOT BE WASHED DOWN

9. ANY SLOPES WITH DISTURBED SOILS OR DENUDED OF VEGETATION MUST BE STABILIZED SO AS

All new utility connections are required to be installed below grade by Santa Ana Municipal Code 41-
626(b). There is a standing exception for one and two family dwellings. This exception
applies only when the new electrical service is designed to be fed from below grade as well as
overhead.
This diagram is a typical unit. The utility is able to feed this cabinet from the top or the bottom without
interfering with the distribution wiring. All the circuit breakers and branch circuits are contained in the
circuit breaker side of this cabinet.
Only listed combination overhead and underground feed service boxes may be used to connect to
an overhead utility drop. This exception to an underground fed service applies only to existing single
family and two family residences.
