B. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, RACEWAY AND
WIRING IN AREAS AFFECTED EXCEPT FOR ITEMS INDICATED TO REMAIN
OR COULD BE RE-USED.
C. ALL DEMOLITION WORK SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LATEST
EDITION OF ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL CODES AND
REGULATIONS.
D. REFER TO DEMOLITION DRAWINGS FOR GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE
WORK AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS.
E. CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH
EXISTING CONDITIONS BEFORE SUBMITTAL OF BID.
F. DEMOLITION DRAWINGS DO NOT INDICATE ALL THE CONDITIONS,
DETAILS AND WORK REQUIRED. CONTRACTOR SHALL EXAMINE THE
BUILDING TO DETERMINE ACTUAL CONDITIONS AND EXTENT OF THE
WORK. ANY DETAILS NOT CLEAR TO THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE
REFERRED TO THE ARCHITECT FOR CLARIFICATION.
G. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL
OF ALL EXISTING ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS NOTED TO BE DEMOLISHED.
NO PORTION OF THE DEMOLISHED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS MAY BE
ABANDONED IN PLACE.
H. DEMOLITION WORK SHALL BE A PHASED OPERATION AND SHALL COMPLY
WITH THE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE. SUBMIT A SCHEDULE OF
DEMOLITION WORK 14 DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK.
CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT PROCEED WITH THE WORK UNTIL RECEIVING
WRITTEN PERMISSION.
I. COORDINATE THE DEMOLITION OF AFFECTED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
WITH OTHER TRADES IN ORDER TO EXPEDITE THE WORK AND TO
MINIMIZE DOWNTIME.
J. PROVIDE TEMPORARY POWER AS NEEDED DURING DEMOLITION
IN ORDER TO ALLOW ALL TRADES TO PERFORM THEIR WORK.
K. REMOVE EXISTING SYSTEMS, SHOWN OR SPECIFIED, NECESSARY
OR REASONABLY INFERRED, FOR COMPLETION OF THE WORK.
THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS THE OPTION OF RETAINING ANY ITEM OF
MATERIAL REMOVED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. ITEM OR MATERIALS NOT
RETAINED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTY
OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES
AND LEGALLY DISPOSED OF OFF-SITE.
L. DISPOSE OF FLUORESCENT LAMPS, BALLASTS AND OTHER
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL, STATE
AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS.
M. DISCONNECT AND REMOVE ALL LIGHT FIXTURES, SWITCHES,
LIGHTING CONTROLS. ASSOCIATED BRANCH WIRING TO REMAIN
FOR RE-USE. WHERE COULD BE REUSE, BACKBOXES TO REMAIN FOR
RECONNECTION.
N. DISCONNECT AND REMOVE ALL DISCONNECTS, STARTERS AND WIRING
FOR MOTORS AND MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT WHICH ARE REMOVED.
O. REMOVE ALL WIRING DETERMINED TO BE DISCONNECTED AND
ABANDONED, AND REMOVE ALL CONDUIT AND JUNCTION BOXES
DETERMINED TO BE EMPTY AND NOT INTENDED TO BE REUSED DURING
THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE.
P. PROTECT REMAINING MAIN SWITCHBOARD, PANELBOARDS AND
OTHER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT FROM DUST AND DAMAGE DURING
DEMOLITION. SAFELY DISCONNECT ANY OTHER DEVICES AND
EQUIPMENT BEFORE DEMOLITION.
Q. RACEWAYS AND WIRING TO EXTERIOR LIGHTING AND DEVICES SHALL
REMAIN. MAINTAIN CONDUIT AND WIRING ENTERING THE BUILDING SO
THEY CAN BE RECONNECTED TO EXISTING PANELBOARDS.
R. REPAIR ANY REMAINING SURFACES WHICH HAVE BEEN DAMAGED
DURING THE WORK. REPAIR SHALL BRING SURFACE BACK TO ORIGINAL
CONDITION. REPAIR OR REPLACE CEILING TILES DAMAGED DURING
DEMOLITION.
S. MAINTAIN CIRCUIT CONTINUITY TO DEVICES IN ADJACENT SPACES
BEYOND THE PROJECT AREA. PROVIDE J-BOXES AS REQUIRED FOR
RECONNECTION.
T. UPDATE ALL PANELBOARD DIRECTORIES ON BRANCH CIRCUIT WIRING
THAT HAS BEEN REMOVED IN PANELBOARD TO REMAIN.
U. CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO TRACE EXISTING INSTALLATION PRIOR TO
DEMOLITION. WHERE EXISTING EQUIPMENT CONNECTIONS ARE
AFFECTED BY THE NEW PANELBOARD, RESTORE ALL ELECTRICAL
CONNECTION PER EXISTING CONDITION.
V. DISCONNECT POWER FROM ALL MECHANICAL OR PLUMBING EQUIPMENT
SHOWN TO BE DEMOLISHED ON THE MECHANICAL/PLUMBING DRAWINGS.

EQUIPMENT. SCE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING SERVICE
