Those sysrems with unique characteristics may be handled wirh small additions to this Expedited Permit Process or may require much more information, depending on rhe uniqueness of the installation. The following pages contajn forms for the Micro-lnverter to use with rhe Expedired Per- mit Process. The Standard String, AC Module, and Supply-Side Connection forms are also available as interactive PDF files at www.solarabcs.org/permitting. In jurisdic- tions that have adopted the Expedited Permit Process for PV Systems, these forms can be filled out electronically and submitted in either printed form and via email. An elec- tronic format is used so that the supplied information is s local jurisdiction.RT,T;T;*'b citY of srn," on" 'G Trrt ,v tff" c'AorNc EXPEDITED PERMIT PROCEsS FOR PV SYSTEMS - MICRO-INVERIER PER I . EXPEDITED PERMIT PRoCESS FoR SMALL-SCALE PV SYSTEMS MICRO-INVERTER The informalon in this guideline is intended ro help local jurisdictions and conrractors idenify when PV sysrem insallations are simple. needing only a basic review and when an installation is more complex. Ir is likely that 50% -75% of all residenrial systems will comply with these simple criteria. For projecrs that fail ro meet the simple criteria. resolurion steps have been suggested to provide as a path ro permir approval. Reqdreal Inforfiation fot Pefinit: 1. Site plan showing locarion of maJor components on rhe properry. This drawing need nor be exacrly ro scale. bur ir should represent relative location of components at site (see supplied example site plan). PV arrays on dwellings wirh a 3'perimeter space at ridge and sides may not need separale hre service review. 2. Electrical diagram showing PV array confrguration, wiring system. overcurrenr protecrion, inverter, disconnects, required signs. and ac connecrion ro building (see supplied standard elecrrical diagram). 3. Speci6cation sheets and installation manuals (iF available) for all manufacrured componenrs including, bur nor limited to, PV modules, inverter(s), combiner box. disconnects, and mounring sysrem. Step 1 : Structural Review of PV Aray Mounting System Is the array to be mounted on a de6ned, permitted rcof structure? Step 2: Electrical Review o[ PV System (Calculations lor Electrical Diagram) ln order for a PV s)6tem to be consider€d for an expedited permit process, the following must apply: l. Pv modules, utility-interactive inverters. and combiner boxes are identihed for use in Pv systems. 2. The PV array is composed of 4 series strings or less per inverter. 3. The total inverter capacity has a continuous ac power output 13,440 Watts or less 4. The ac interconnection poinr is on the load side of service disconnecring means (690.64(8)). 5. One of rhe sEndard elecftical diagrams (El .l , E l .l a, E l .1b, or E1 .1c) can be used ro accurarely represenr rhe Pv system. lnteractive PDF diagrams are available at www.solarabcs.org/permifting. Fill out the standard electricd.l diagram completely. A g\id.e to the electrical diagram is ptovided to help the arylicont understand each blank to lll in.
