2, MOUNT THE WALL BRACKET TO A WALL. TIGHTEN THE SCREWS, ENSURING THAT THEY ARE HORIZONTALLY DRIVEN
INTO THE WALL. (MUST BE INSTALLED vvlTH RECOMMENDED CLEARANCES(72OMM[29]) ON THE EDGE OF THE WALL
BRACKET AS SHOWN IN THE FIGURE3. MOUNT THE BATTERY PACK TO A WALL BRACKET'S "U" SHAPE CLIP USING THE SUPPORT BY LIFT HANDLES. REMOVE
THE LIFT HANDLES.
4. TIGHTEN THE TWO HEX-SOCKET SCREWS ENCLOSED AND REMOVE THE LIFT HANDLES. THE NUTS FOR THESE SCREWS
ARE \A/ELDED TO THE BATTERY PACK CHASSIS. TIGHTEN TO A TORQUE OF 5 N.M USING THE M6 TORQUE WRENCH.
NOTE: IF MOUNTING IN GARAGE, BATTERY MUST BE MOUNTED AT A LEVEL ABOVE CAR BUMPER TO AVOID ANY POTENTIAL
DAMAGE.

Slate of California requires that smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms are installed in resldential
buildings.
California Residential Code (CRC) Section R314.1and R315.2 states in part that existing dweltngs be
"reirofitted \/ith smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. CRC Section R314.3 and R315.1 define
the required locations.

bedrooms and also on each level of the dwelling. Alarms are recommended in bedrooms wilh gas-fired
appliances (i.e. hot water heater, cooktop, furnace) or a fireplace.
V ::a,oxe a!a;ms: Are installed in each room used for sleeping, in each hallway outside of ; rleeping
room, and on each level of the dwelling.
Retrofitted detectors may be battery-operated for buildings where no interior alterations are
performed. Combination Smoke/CO alarms must comply with all applicable standards and h approved
by the State Fire Marshall (stM). Battery life must be 10 years.
