Door Hardware Notes:
1. All new and existing interior door hardware to comply with ADA.
2. Hand activated door opening hardware shall be centered between 50 inches and 44 inches,
above the floor. Latching and locking doors that are hand activated and iNhlah are in 0
path of travel shall be operoble, with a single effort by lever -type hardware, by panic, bars,
push-pull activation bars, or other hardware designed to provide passage without
requiring the ability to grasp the opening hardware. Locked exit door shall operate as
above in egress direction.
5. Maximum effort to operate doors shall not exceed 5 pounds for exterior doors and
interior doors, such pull or push effort being applied at right angles to hinged doors and at
the Center plane of sliding or folding doors. Compensating devices or automatic door
operators may be utilized to meet the above standards. When fire doors are required, the
maximum effort to operate the door may be increased to the minimum allowable by the
appropriate, administrative authority, not to exceed 15 pounds.
4. The bottom 10 inches of all doors except automatic, and sliding shall have a smooth
uninterrupted surface to allow the door to be opened by a wheelchair footrest without

1131(d)1For every floor, all interior lighting systems shall be equipped with a separate automatic
control to shut off the lighting. Ibis automatic control shall meet the requirements of
Section 119 and may be an occupancy sensor, automatic time switch, or other device
capable of automatically shutting off the lighting.
[� 1131(d)20verride for Building Ugh&q Shut-off: The automatic building shut-off system is
provided with a manual, accessible override switch insight of the lights. The area of
override is not to exceed 5,000 square feet
❑ 1119(h) Automatic Control Devices Certified: All automatic control devices specified are
certified, all alternate equipment shall be certified and installed as directed by the
manufacturer.
® 1111 Fluorescent Ballast and Luminaires Certified: All fluorescent fixtures specified for the
project are certified and listed in the Directory. All installed fixtures shall be certified,
❑ 1132 Tandem Wring for One and Three. Limp Fluorescent Fixtures: All one and three lamp
fluorescent fixtures are tandem wired with two lamp ballasts where required by
Standards Section 132; or all one and three lamp fluorescent fixtures are specified
with electronic high -frequency ballasts and are exempt from tandem wiring
requirements.
❑ 1131(a) individual Room/Area Controls: Each room and area in this building is equipped with
a separate switch or occupancy sensor device for each area with floor-to-celing
walls.
❑ 1131(b) Uniform Reduction for Individual Rooms: All rooms and areas greater than 100
square feet and more than 0.8 watts per square foot of lighting food shall be
controlled with bi--level switching for uniform reduction of lighting within the room.
❑ 1131(c) Daylight Area Control: All rooms with windows and skylights that are greater than
250 square feet and that allow for the effective use of daylight in the area shall have
50% of the lamps in each dayl'd area controlled by a separate switch; or the effective
use of daylight cannot be accomplished because the windows are continuously

20 amps or less.
❑ I130(c) Efficacy of Exterior Lights: Exterior mounted fixtures with lamps over 100 Watts

least 60 lumens per Watt, or are controlled by a motion sensor.
