I. The general contractor shall verify all dimensions and conditions at site.
Any discrepancy found shall be reported to the Architect or Engineer.
f 2. All work shall conforrn'to the minimum standards of the 1997 edition of the
Uniform Building Code.
3. The structural calculations included here are for the analysis and design of
primary structural system. Non-structural elements are the responsibility of
the Architect or Designer.
4• Structural changes made shall be submitted to the Engineer for review and
approval.
5. Portions of construction not covered by structural design shall be
constructed per section 2326 of the Uniform Building Code.
6. The general contractor shall be responsible for adequacy and safety of
erection bracing, shoring and temporary supports.

1. Design of foundation is based on clay, sandy clay, silty clay and clayey silt
with allowable bearing value of 1000 psf per Table 18-1-A of UBC.
' 2. Contractor shall verify type of soil on site. He shall inform the Engineer if
soil on site is inferior than the assumed soil type.
3. Soils with an expansion index greater than 20 shall not be used as fill
supporting foundation for structure.
4.• Fills and backfills shall be compacted to 90% of maximum density.
5. The contractor shall be responsible for all shoring and bracing necessary to
support cut and/or fill banks during excavation, and forrt'ing and placement

6. Concrete flab shall be 4' duck with 6'x 6% # 10/# 10 welded wire mesh

5. Joists shall be TJi joists by Trus Joist MacMillan and shall conform to
NER 200
6. Refer to Trus Joist Macmillan Specification for location and size of holes
that maybe drilled through the web of TJI joists.
W-god Trusses
I . 'Truss manufacturer shall provide calculations and strop drawing to the
Architect or engineer for approval prior to fabrication. Calculations and shop
drawings shall be signed and stamped by a California R.egisti rcd Professional
Engineer.
2. All connectors shall be 1CB0 approved.
3. Design to trusses shall include loads from mechanical equipment and lateral
loads.
4. The total deflections shall be limited to I,1240
Cross bridging and/or bracing shall be provided and detailed as required -to
adequately brace all trusses.
Concrete Masonry
1. Concrete block units shall be grade N-1, light weight, conforming to ASTM
C-90. Minimum compressive strength, f ire=1500 psi,
2. Mortar shall be type M conforming to ASTM C-476. Minimum
compressive strength, rc =2000 psi.
3. Grout shall conform to ASTM C-476. Minimum compressive
strength,(c =2000 psi.
4. All walls below grade shall be waterproofed and positively drained.
5. Unless rioted otherwise on the plans, special inspection is not required' for
masonry construction.
1. Unless otherwise noted on plans, concrete shall have a minimum
compressive strength of2500 psi in 25 days.
