IDENTIFY AND MARK STEEL PER CBC BUILDING CODE SECTION 2203 2. STRUCTURAL STEEL SHALL CONFORM TO THE FOLLOWING: MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS: W - SHAPES ASTM A992 OR ASTM A572 GRADE 50 C-, S-, M-, HP-, AND ANGLE SHAPES ASTM A36 BARS AND PLATES ASTM A36 MACHINE BOLTS ASTM A307 HIGH STRENGTH BOLTS ASTM A325 OR A490 ANCHOR BOLTS AND PINS ASTM A307 AND/OR A325 HIGH STRENGTH ANCHOR BOLTS ASTM A449 PIPE (STANDARD WEIGHT, UNO) ASTM A53 GRADE B FY = 35 KSI STRUCTURAL TUBES ASTM A500 GRADE B FY=46 KSI 3. NO HOLES OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFICALLY DETAILED SHALL BE ALLOWED THRU STRUCTURAL STEEL MEMBERS. BOLT HOLES SHALL CONFORM TO AISC SPECIFICATION, AND SHALL BE STANDARD HOLES UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. NO CUTTING OR BURNING OF STRUCTURAL STEEL WILL BE PERMITTED WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT OF THE ENGINEER. 4. ALL STRUCTURAL STEEL SHAPES SHALL BE PRIMED WITH A RUST RESISTANT PRIMER BEFORE SHIPMENT TO THE PROJECT SITE. 5. AFTER ERECTION IS COMPLETE, TOUCH-UP ALL SHOP PRIMING COATS DAMAGED DURING TRANSPORTATION AND ERECTION. 6. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, ALL COMMON BOLTS AND ANCHOR BOLTS SHALL BE INSTALLED SNUG -TIGHTENED, THE TIGHTNESS THAT IS ATTAINED WITH A FEW IMPACTS OF AN IMPACT WRENCH OR THE FULL EFFORT OF AN IRONWORKER USING AN ORDINARY SPUD WRENCH TO BRING THE PLIES INTO FIRM CONTACT. 7. SHOP WELDS MUST BE PREFORMED IN A CITY BUILDING DEPARTMENT LICENSED FABRICATORS SHOP. EPDXY ANCHORS 1. EPDXY FOR EPDXY ANCHORS SHALL BE SET-HS EPDXY BY "SIMPSON STRONG -TIE" (ICBO REP. #5279/LARR# 25279) SPECIAL INSPECTION REQUIRED. 2. ANCHORS USED FOR EPDXY ANCHORS SHALL BE ASTM A-307 THREADED RODS UNO. SIZE AND EMBEDMENT SHALL BE AS INDICATED ON PLANS. 3. ANCHORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EPDXY MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS AND THE CURRENT ICBO REPORT. 4. SPECIAL INSPECTION SHALL BE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH 2O01 CBC SECTION 1701 AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFIC SPECIAL INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN THE CORRESPONDING ICBO REPORT. 5. DRILLED HOLES SHALL BE CLEANED OF DUST AND ANY DEBRIS USING NYLON BRUSH AND COMPRESSED AIR. OIL, SCALE, AND RUST SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THREADED RODS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. 6.
