I Exterior swinging doors must be solid core, 1 -1/4" thick or with panels 9/16" thick. (8-2 1 O.A)
2, Doors leading from a garage into a dwelling unit must be solid core, 1 3/8" thick, (8-210.13)
3, Specify that above doors be equipped with deadbolt locks approved by the Police Department
(8-21 O.C) specify make and model number. (Titan 780 or Equal)
4, Specify flush bolt with 5/8" itribedment into head and threshold on inactive leaves of exterior
double doors. (8-210.E)
5. Glazing in exterior doors or within 40" of the latch must be tempered or burglary resistant
(8-210.F)
6. Hinges for out swinging doors ;must have non -removable pins (NRP). (8-2 1 O.G)
7. Strike plates must be 3 1/2" long, secured to the jamb with screws 2 !/2" in length. (8-2 1 O.H)
8. Front exterior doors to be equipped with ISO door viewers or clear vision panels. (8-2 10. 1)
9. Each structure must have a street address or other identification , which is visible from the street.

WOOD FRAME
1. TOP PLATE OF ALL STUD WALL SHALL BE 2 PIECES THE SAME SIZE AS
STUD SPLICES TO LAP 4'-0" MINIMUM AND BE NAILED WITH 12-16D
MINIMUM EACH SIDE OF JOINT.
2. BOLT HOLES IN WOOD SHALL BE 1/32" OR 1/16" LARGER THAN THE NOMINAL
BOLT DIAMETER, ALL BOLTS SHALL HAVE STANDARD OUT WASHERS UNDERHEAD
AND NOT UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

STOPS IN ALL FURRING SPACES VERTICAL DIRECTIONS AND HORIZONTAL, AND
A MAXIMUM SPACING OF 8'-0" IN EACH DIRECTION AND THE SAME LINES AS
FIRE STOPS.
6. ALL BOLTS SHALL BE RETIGHTENED PRIOR TO THE APPLICATION OF SHEATING,
PLASTER, ETC.
7. ALL PLYWOOD SHALL COMFORM TO U.S. PRODUCT STANDARD PSI- 83 EACH
SHEET OF PLYWOOD SHALL BE IDENTIFIED WITH THE APPROPIATE TRADEMARK
OF THE PLYWOOD ASSOCIATION. ALL PLYWOOD SHALL BE CLASSIFIED AS EXPOSURE

REPLACE WITH PROPER LT COMPACTED FILL, ALL FILLING, BACKFILLING, AND

CONDITIONS ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY INDICATED, BUT ARE OF SIMILAR CHARACTER
TO DETAILS SHOWN, SIMILAR DETAILS OF CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE USED SUBJECT

NOTES
1. INDICATES SILL PLATE NAILING OR ACHOR BOLTING FOR Two SIDE APPLICATION.
2. REFER TO SHEAR WALL NOTES ON PLANS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
3. CONSTRUCTION OF PLYWOOD SHEAR WALL TOO BE WITH COMMON NAILS ONLY.
4. HOLDOWN BOLT HOLES AT EACH END OF THE PLYWOOD SHEAR WALL, SHALL
HAVE A TOLERANCE OF NO MORE THAN 1/16" (INSPECTION REQUIRED). HOLD-
DOWNS SHALL HE TIGHTENED JUST PRIOR TO LEVERING THE SHEAR WALL. ALL
POSTS WITH HOLDOWNS OR UP LIFT STRAPS SHALL HAVE CONTINIOUS EDGE NAILING.
5. ALL ANCHOR BOLTS SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE SILL PLATE WITH 2"x12"x3/16"
SQUARE STEEL WASHER PLATES.
7. WHERE SHEAR PANELS ARE APPLIE ON BOTH FACES OF A WALL AND NAIL SPACING
IS LESS THAN 6 INCHES ON CENTER ON EITHER SIDE. PANEL JOINTS SHALL BE OFF
SET TO FALL IN DIFFERENT FRAMING MEMBERS OR FRAMING SHALL BE 3-NOMINAL
OR THICKER AND NAILS SHALL HE STAGGERED, SILL PLATES SHALL BE STRUCTURAL
PANEL SHEATING SHALL BE STAGGERED.
8. ALL WOOD STRUCTURAL PANEL SHEATING SHALL BE C-D AND OTHER GRADES
COVERED IN THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE AND RD'S 4W51
