If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings (647-5839 or 647-5700) - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceVerify if the unit next to proposed unit is occupied if is show the floor plan to show compliance with exiting and bathroom requirements.Clarify if the unit is on first floor or second floor.Since the store is being extended, show the clearance between the new lease line and the guardrail or the other store.Show if there is any security grill at the front of the store.Incidental Storage Areas sales shall be separated from other areas by a one-hour fire-resistive assembly in accordance with CBC Section 508.2.CBC Section 708.4, Fire partitions shall extend from the top of the foundation or floor/ceiling assembly below to the underside of the floor or roof sheathing, slab or deck above or to the fire-resistance-rated floor/ceiling or roof/ceiling assembly above, and shall be securely attached thereto. If the partitions are not continuous to the sheathing, deck or slab, and where constructed of combustible construction, the space between the ceiling and the sheathing, deck or slab above shall be fire-blocked or draft-stopped in accordance with Sections 717.2 and 717.3 at the partition line. The supporting construction shall be protected to afford the required fire-resistance rating of the wall supported, except for tenant and sleeping unit separation walls and corridor walls in buildings of Types IIB, IIIB, and VB construction.CBC Section 708.9, Penetrations in a fire partition by ducts and air transfer openings shall comply with Section 716.No Combustible material is allowed in Type II bldg.Provide typical section view detail of all new partitions and ceilings showing: - Size, spacing, and material of framing members - Note gauge and ICC Research Report number and installation/construction requirements for metal framing members.-Provide metal stud span table based on ICC report. - Method of attaching framing to the building structure. Compliance shall be shown with CBC Section 1607.13 for lateral support of the walls. Do not support top of walls to suspended ceiling system unless calculations and drawing prepared by a registered engineer are submitted for review. Submit structural engineering calculations for walls in rooms with a floor to building structure above height greater than 14’. - Provide on the drawings details for the lateral support of partitions, rails and similar space dividers less than 5’ 9” in height. - Heights of partition, suspended ceiling, structure above. - Reference each fire-resistive assembly to a CBC Chapter 7 Table and Item number.Note on the floor plan the use and occupancy load of stock room and area .Clarify type of the wall in the hallway and how it is being attached to the existing wall.Provide specifications for doors hardware (i.e., lever type, push-pull panic, etc) to comply with disabled access requirements. CBC Section 1133B.2.5.2.CBC Section 1133B.2.5, Note on the drawings: “Maximum effort to operate doors shall not exceed 5 pounds for exterior doors and interior doors, such pull or push effort being applied at right angles to hinged doors and at the center place of sliding or folding doors. Compensating devices or automatic door operators may be utilized to meet the above standards. When fire doors are required, the maximum effort to operate the door may be increased to the minimum allowable by the appropriate administrative authority, not to exceed 15 pounds.Tactile exit signs shall be required at the following locations: - Each grade-level exterior exit door shall be identified by a tactile exit with the word “EXIT.” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of a stairway or ramp shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the following words as appropriate:“EXIT STAIR DOWN”“EXIT RAMP DOWN”“EXIT STAIR UP”“EXIT RAMP UP” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of an exit enclosure, or an exit passageway, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.” - Each exit access door from an interior room or area to a corridor or hallway, which is required to have a visual exit sign, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.” - Each exit door through a horizontal exit shall be identified by a sign with the words “TO EXIT.”Plumbing facilities shall be provided in accordance with the California Plumbing Code (CPC) Section 412.0 and CPC Table 4-1.CBC Section 1110B.1.3, Check Stands CBC Table 11B-2: NUMBER OF REGULARNUMBER TO BE CHECKSTANDSACCESSIBLE 1 to 41 5 to 82 9 to 153 Over 153 plus 20% of additional aisles - In new and existing construction, accessible check stands shall provide a clear checkout aisle width of 36” with a maximum adjoining counter height not exceeding 38” above the finish floor. - The top of the counter lip shall not exceed 40” above the finish floor. - Accessible check stands shall always be open to customers with disabilities and shall be identified by a sign clearly visible to those in wheelchairs. The sign shall display the international symbol of accessibility in white on a blue background and shall state “This check stand to be open at all times for customers with disabilities.”Bathroom door cannot encroach more than 12” into required 60” clear floor space. Provide minimum 12” clearance at the strike edge of the entry door.Provide minimum 12” clearance at the strike edge inside and 18” at the outside of the back door.Show maximum height at the store front garage counter shall not be more than 34”.CBC Section 1117B.8, Fitting and Dressing Rooms: - Where fitting or dressing rooms are provided for male or female customers, patients, employees, or the general public, 5 percent, but never less than one, of dressing rooms for each type of use in each cluster of dressing rooms shall be accessible. - Entry doors shall conform to the requirements of Section 1133B.2 and aisles leading to such doors shall conform to Sections 1133B.6.1 and 1133B.6.2. - The bottom of mirrors provided for use by persons with disabilities shall not be greater than 20” from the floor. Mirrors to be used by persons with disabilities shall be full-length, measuring at least 18” wide by 54” high, and shall be mounted in a position affording a view to a person on the bench as well as to a person in a standing position. - Clothing hooks shall be located not greater than 8” from the floor. - Every accessible dressing room shall have a 24” by 48” bench fixed to the wall along the longer dimension. The bench shall be mounted 17 to 19” above the finish floor. Clear floor space shall be provided alongside the bench to allow a person using a wheelchair to make a parallel transfer onto the bench. The structural strength of the bench and attachments shall comply with Section 1115B.8. The minimum clear space within the room shall be 60” width and length. No door shall encroach into the required space. - Exceptions:- Minor specialized display areas that do not exceed 200 square feet in floor area and to which the general public is excluded need not be made accessible.- Offices in sales facilities that do not exceed 5,000 square feet in total area, that are located on non- accessible levels, need not be made accessible.Show how the fitting room walls are being supported laterally.Provide a detail to show how the wall shelving is being attached to the walls.Clarify type of the ceiling on all areas.Provide complete detail to show how all the walls are being supported at the top and the bottom.Screw cannot be used for the concrete deck. (see wall details)Provide metal ceiling joists ICC number and span table and construction detail for the bathroom.Provide spacing for the Threaded rod at the detail 2/A-2.For all suspended track lightings provide complete detail to show attachment to the structure above. Provide complete structural calculations and drawings for suspended ceiling systems showing compliance with CBC Sections 711.3.1, 803.9, 1613, and 1705 (special inspections) and ASTM C635 and ASTM C636.(In lieu of structural calculation see correction 38-40)Provide a complete suspended ceiling system plan and section detail showing the following: - Vertical supports - Seismic wires - Seismic strut/Compression strut - Perimeter wires - Separate fixture wires for lights and mechanical devices - ICC Research Report number for the suspended ceilingThe reflected ceiling plan and details must show compliance with CBC Sections 711.3.1, 803, 1613, and 1705 (special inspection) for suspended ceiling systems.Note ICC Research Report Number on the drawings for the suspended ceiling system. (ICC Report Number 1308)Tenant improvements in the Main Place Mall shall show compliance with the following special provisionsand CBC section 402: - CBC Section 106.3. Tenant improvements at 2800 North Main, Main Place Mall, shall show compliance with “Code Analysis and Fire Protection and Life Safety Concept” prepared by Code Consultants Incorporated, dated “Revised February 18, 1986, and February 22, 1990 (1991 Mall Expansion).” - Note on drawings: Duct and smoke removal system modification is not allowed and shall be in compliance with the “Code Analysis and Fire Protection and Life Safety Concept.” - Main Place Mall, other than anchor stores, is of Type IIB fire-sprinklered construction. In accordance with CBC Section 603.1, walls and permanent partitions shall be of noncombustible construction, except that permanent non-bearing partitions may use fire-retardant treated wood (CBC 202) within the assembly. - CBC Sections 402.7.2 and 708. Each tenant space shall be separated from other tenant spaces by a wall having a fire-resistive rating of not less than one hour. The separation wall shall extend from the floor to the underside of the ceiling above. - CBC Section 402.4.2, Number of means of egress. When the distance of travel to the mall exceeds 75’ within the public area of a tenant space or when the occupant load served by the exit to the mall exceeds 49, not less than two means of egress shall be provided. The occupant load of a public sale area shall be computed at 30 square feet per occupant. Occupant loads for other areas shall be computed in accordance with Table Number 1004.1.1.Show the weight and location of the suspended projector on the floor plan.Provide complete attachment detail and engineering for the suspended projector.Provide engineering and detail for the storefront , garage door, soffit and…. To show how it is being supported vertically and laterally.Show the location of the canopy on the floor plan , and provide engineering detail to show method of attachment.
